I want to meet some of you! I'm just getting ready to take my last 3 finals, have been studying for the TEAS for months now, and will be able to apply for next fall's nursing program (YAYAY!) I'd love to hear from some potential future classmates, how you are doing/ did with pre-reqs/ TEAS, and share the excitement upon acceptances!
I feel about the same as you, Gabby! Cautiously confident. My husband keeps asking me why I always say "IF I get into nursing school..." I just don't want to set myself up or jinx things any more than I already did by purchasing a stethoscope prior to being accepted into the program! Lol Hopefully we will be classmates at Porter--it would be great to already know someone!
I got a stethoscope about 2 months ago!! Mine is purple. :3 I needed it for work though, so I had an excuse to get what I wanted sooner. I'm worried I may be jinxing myself as well and I would say I feel cautiously confident as you described. Lol. I'm wishing we would get them by Friday like RoseyFaulkingham said, but I'm sure we'd be wayyy too lucky for that to happen. Still excited only a few weeks of waiting are left.
Mine is just black and brass :-) Allheart.com had a KILLER anniversary sale where it was super, super discounted (like the cheapest I'd seen including shipping and initial engraving) so I just couldn't resist. I was debating getting purple or blue though! There was also a burgundy, but I have been told it looks musty in real life so I passed :-S We will all have to get together for coffee [or drinks...;-)] to celebrate once we hear! It seems like it's been so long! I think it will be so surreal to finally HAVE the letter!
Just thought I would share--I received an e-mail this morning announcing a 20% Littmann sale going on at Allheart.com. Every model is on sale, plus engraving is discounted, and I want to even say that there is free shipping being offered! Not sure how long they will be running this sale for, but if you are in need of a stethoscope, check it out!

I was actually just looking at this yesterday and spent an hour looking at them. It's a great deal! What stethoscope do you all have or want to get if you get into the program? I'm looking at either the cardiology III or the classic II.
I'm starting to get nervous about these letters. I was fine waiting until the first week of July but now hearing that they're being sent out next week (maybe) is making me anxious! I'm guessing that they're meeting next week and we'll start receiving letters the following week. I just wish I knew for sure.
Girl, you have nothing to be worried about--I am almost 100% certain on that!
I went with the Master Cardiology off of the recommendation of my friend who is a BSN. She told me that she started off with a classic and had the worst time with it. She decided to go with a Master Cardio after borrowing it from another nurse (or something like that) and told me she wished she would have just invested from the get-go. I have heard WONDERFUL things about the entire Cardio line, though, regardless of which you end up going with! I would Google for reviews!

If anyone has nothing to worry about it's you! 100% sure you'll get in! But I think we all have a very good chance! We'll see! :) I'll hopefully be at Porter Campus if I get in so we'll all have to get together. It'll be great to have some new friends and study buddies!
I am definitely leaning toward the cardio! I'll have to look at a bunch of reviews. It's expensive but definitely worth it, in my opinion! Thanks for letting me know!
Thank you for sharing info about the stethoscope sale...I dont have one yet.
Today I got excited when a letter arrived from PHSC admissions dept - I opened it and they are requesting my summer spc transcript in order to "finalize" my admission and it is due on July 30th. I want to believe this is a good sign but I'm probably overthinking it.
The wait is driving me nuts...lol!
AFwife - I have no doubt you're getting in. I cant remember anyone elses stats, sorry. Do you guys want to make a little chart like in a previous thread so we know where we stand?
I'll start if anyone wishes to join, if not thats ok too. Copy and paste.

Off to go check out stethoscopes...I want a pink one :)
Yah, such a good idea! I'll amend the first post (if I can figure out how...ah, technology!) so we can keep tabs on everyone! Scarlet, I remember getting like FIVE of those...like borderline harassment when I took A and P through SPC. Be sure to call in and confirm that they have received it and filed it properly in your file or they could put your FA on hold!
I am also going to add in acceptance status for when the time comes! WOO HOO! ;-)
Just tried...no dice on editing the first post...oh well. Here's mine:

Eeekkk. I'm excited as well. It feels like forever waiting only 3 weeks for letters, but that's actually quite fast in comparison to waiting months like for HCC. I had a friend apply there and the application period for Fall semesters are December the year before, and you don't find out if you got in until June before the semester! So I am grateful. I have a 3.6 GPA and got an 82% on the TEAS and applied to the Porter Campus. I'm looking forward to an acceptance letter and have my fingers crossed, but know it's not definite until I have the letter in my hand so I'm still nervous.
