PHCC Fall 2014 hopefuls!

Published

I want to meet some of you! I'm just getting ready to take my last 3 finals, have been studying for the TEAS for months now, and will be able to apply for next fall's nursing program (YAYAY!) I'd love to hear from some potential future classmates, how you are doing/ did with pre-reqs/ TEAS, and share the excitement upon acceptances!

thank you njewell

Njewell what campus are you going too.

Specializes in Cardiothoracic ICU.

I just wanted to share--I remember someone saying that we weren't allowed to take coreqs (A and P II, Micro, etc.) as transient students once accepted into the nursing program. My transient student application has already been approved to take A and P II + L through SPC online (as I did with A and P I + Lab) for this fall's semester within literally a few hours of submission. The woman I spoke with in academic advising said that so long as it's a major-related course and you have a legitimate reason, such as work, etc., the fact that you are in a nursing program has no relevance as to whether or not they approve your app. So woo hoo, I hope I can get into the same professor's class as I had for A and P I because she was the bomb dot com!

Great news...thanks for sharing!!

So, how do I go about applying to be a transient? Can you PM me?

Hi! Congratulations to everyone who got in. I was wondering from the people in the transition program how many years have you been an LPN before you applied and what type of experience did you get?

Specializes in LPN.

Ok this is ridiculous. I had NO IDEA the generic RN program only required 5 pre-reqs. My GPA for the RN program pre-reqs is higher than the combined total for the transition. I could have probably gotten into the generic RN program if I applied but I thought it was closed to licensed LPNs and the admissions lady at the west campus said I apply for it regardless of my licensure I'm pretty ****** off no one told me but whatever. I'll apply for the January start date.

How is everyone finding out which campus they are assigned to?

I graduated the LPN program last December and have been working as an LPN since February.

Did you have to go to the school to take the test or do anything for lab or was it completely online?
