Pharmacology at Lone Star College System

U.S.A. Texas

hello all,

is anyone planning on taking pharmacology this summer or fall at one of the lone star college campuses? if so, is there a particular instructor you would recommend? for those who have already taken pharm, please chime in too. i have gone to ratemyprofessors, but most of the pharm instructors are not on there. i plan on taking pharm this summer. since there's so much information and work condensed into 6 weeks, i would at least like to have an instructor who will be helpful. thanks.

I'm trying to register for pharmacology for the Summer 1 term starting in June, but I have a few holds that I need to take care of. The professor teaching at North Harris is TBA? By reading this forum, the general consensus is to take the online class over the in-class lecture?

I just signed up for the online class at Kingwood, the instructor is Seaback. Keeping my fingers crossed!

i signed up for pharm with licia clowtis at montgomery college. the schedule says it's a hybrid class, but it appears to be an online class. i emailed her, but i haven't heard back.

Good luck in your class!

I took it online with Wanda Seaback a couple of summers ago. From what I remember it wasn't too bad. I think you had a weekly case study and 4 tests and that was pretty much it. For those of you worried about the tons of reading and 10 chapters per test, you better get used to it! I'm in the RN program now and their aren't enough hours in the day for all the reading. We have tests every other week, usually consisting of tons of chapters. And the ones that only have a few chapters aren't any better because those chapters are over 100+ pages! Lots of reading in a little amount of time is just a fact of life in nursing school! Good luck with pharm and good luck to all of you trying to get into the program!

I guess it's a good thing I like to read! Now if I can somehow find the time to do it......oh well, guess I can sleep when I'm dead.:zzzzz

take Cinquemani at North Harris, I took the regular class over the spring semester, math test were pretty easy, on the math test you read everything from the book and practice the excersises and dont just browse it because that is where she gets you, on the pharm lecture test, well, she lets you use your drug book, and 3 pages of your own notes, that is alot of help. in class you only go over math/pharmachology power points, that is it, she doesnt teach anything extra, if I knew that i would of taken her hybrid course(meets only 5 times) because attendance is not mandatory. take it over the fall semester because it is ALOT!

:Dif i was you i would recommend Julie kendall at north harris college. she is real good teacher and has a sense of humor. cinquemani is the teacher i took last summer before i started the nursing program and i think she wasn't very good. too me see didn't seem to care in what she was teaching. take kendall. good luck.

What Pharmacology are you taking? I just finished one this last semester......

Who is your instrutor? I had Domenico, she was GREATTTTTTTTT.....

I'm not sure which professor/class setup of pharmacology to take. Both start in the summer 2 session, and I would like to take it this summer to lighten up my fall semester load. I couldn't take pharmacology this summer 1 session because I was on a 4 week trip out of the country and just got back this past weekend (basically missed the first week of class if I registered for it).

Choices:

Lone Star College @ Kingwood (Hybrid):

TTh 1:00-4:00

Professor: Rachel Weaver

Lone Star College @ Kingwood (Distance Learning):

all online

Professor: Wanda Seaback

I really wish I could of taken pharmacology with Professor Kendall at North Harris in summer 1. Thanks for the help

Hi, this is a little off topic-but was wondering. I took my Pharm class the spring of 2006.. Do you have to retake this class, after so long? Does anyone know? I cant find anything on the Lonestar website that says either way.
