Pharmacology at Lone Star College System

Published

hello all,

is anyone planning on taking pharmacology this summer or fall at one of the lone star college campuses? if so, is there a particular instructor you would recommend? for those who have already taken pharm, please chime in too. i have gone to ratemyprofessors, but most of the pharm instructors are not on there. i plan on taking pharm this summer. since there's so much information and work condensed into 6 weeks, i would at least like to have an instructor who will be helpful. thanks.

I took cinquemani (I'm sure I'm spelling that wrong) at NH and she was fine. As with most classes you get out of it what you put into it, but I liked her approach to the class.

I am taking kochanowsky (montgomery) It's an online class. Pharm is pretty much memorization and doing your own thing. If you take it online I wouldn't worry too much about your prof.

If you have any choice at all, I do not recommend taking Pharm in the summer unless you have days to sit and read. I am also taking it online with Kochanowsky and her tests usually consist of at least 10 chapters at a time. A LOT of reading. Speak to your counselor and get their take. Good luck to you.

I took this exact class and teacher online last year and it was no trouble at all. I do know they changed the textbook after my semester, though.

has anyone heard of wanda seaback at kingwood? she's teaching pharm online for the summer. it seems like most of the classes have been filled for the summer.

I took pharmacology from Wanda Seaback last summer online and it wasn't too bad. There is definitely a lot of reading. Most of the tests are taken in the testing center on campus (you can go to any Lone Star campus, doesn't have to be Kingwood). She's really nice and very easy to work with.

there are also two hybrid classes being taught this summer by melissa herpel at tomball and lecia clowtis at montgomery. does anyone recommend one of these instructors?

I haven't had Licia Clowtis yet, but she's one of the instructors for the second year ADN program, and she's incredibly nice. She's also a fami/pedi nurse practitioner which would likely provide some unique insight.

I am taking pharmacology online right now through Kingwood College and I think it is very easy. There are weekly homework assignments and open book tests that seem to allow enough time to look up the answer if you are fast enough.

Britt which instructor do you have?
