If you want to take courses before starting nursing school, i would advise on A&P (both parts, as this will take a HUGE load off your first year, I did this!!!) or statistics/whatever math program your nursing program consists of.
You need A&P to understand the majority of pharma, and you'll be using it a lot while in nursing, so it's not something you want to forget. I would def. reccommend you take A&P!
As long as you have taken A&P I would go for it. You may have to work a little harder because you are not in the nursing part yet and there maybe a few things you don't understand but then you will already know it for later on when you are in the nursing classes. If it will take some of the load off after you have started nursing classes then go for it for sure!! Good Luck!! :)
At my school, pharmacology is PART of the nursing curriculum so we can't take it ahead of time. It is taken first semester with Fundamentals.
Yeah, its the same for us here, which is why i suggested A&P... It's taken during term 4 of the first year.
A lot of girls in my class who were on a waiting list, took lifespan, pharma, and a few other courses at our school or at the nearby university, and when they changed our BN program from 4 to 3 years (added a term each year) they said they would only accept certain programs. We're only allowed to take A&P, and stats outside of the program, otherwise they won't even count it... I understand if they're changing the material a little, but they couldn't have changed it that much...

Hi everyone:
can someone please give me an advise on whether I should take the pharmacology class before or after I start nursing school? This course is not one of the classes to take during the nursing program, so I rather get it out of the way, but I was told I would be too confused in the class not knowing the basic yet.
any help is greatly appreciated! thanks!
