PH Nurses for USA (Experiences with Employers)

Published

Hello my fellow Filipino nurses! How are you? I started this topic so that we can share our own experiences when it comes to getting employment opportunities in the U.S. Obviously, the pay in the U.S. is pretty much higher as compared to our country.

Actually, I'm one of the abandoned nurses before. Abandoned in a sense that a U.S. agency back somewhere in the 2000s wasn't able to give me my dream of working in the said country. Back then, there was a retrogression or the economic downpour in the U.S. and that's why they have backed out. As of now, I think the U.S. is already bouncing back and I already heard a lot of employers who are interested to hire Filipino nurses. I don't have any idea what to do since it involves money, time, and patience. Also, I'm scared if same thing will happen again. Have you heard about MMML or any other agencies?

I hope your experience in the U.S is not disappointing. usually working conditions for IEN are not the best and are left open for a reason.

Specializes in Hemodialysis, Operating Room Nurse, PACU.

After all the insanity in Canada, I assure you things in the US will be far better.

I worked with many Canadian nurses who worked in highly desirable areas of California who have migrated back to Canada like a flock of seagulls. Things were far better at home to them. I find it insulting that some people take work in Canada as a stepping stone towards the US. Canada has produced some excellent nurses. I have also had the pleasure of working with some very good Filipino nurses, middle eastern nurses etc. but currently our hospitals in the area aren't looking abroad for nurses. They are looking within. Some of them won't look at our of the area applicants. There is no need for our area. The market is saturated in this area where as in other markets they may have the need. Those are also few and far between. good luck to everyone

june visa bulletin is in january 2005 backwards... :( I already paid my NVC bill and all my requirements and documents are already in the NVC... my PD is 2009.. so I am on hold again..

Until you become current again ma'am.

For now, it is very hard to say how things'll turn up. Try to watch October and November's VB, if the PD's continue to maintain a slow pace until the 1st quarter of 2016... Looks like we're back in the dark ages (again).

nevertheless, chin up! Be optimistic. We can never know...

So I am, my pd is 2006 but some people say that it won't be long as this could be just a knee jerk reaction by the authority due to influx of Filipino nurses in U.S. These past years

We're the same! My PD is 2009. Already submitted my DS260 online and submitted all the documents to NVC last March 2015 and just waiting for the appointment. Then, May VB came and retrogression is back! Grrrr...
