I should have done this in college the first time but my dad (an MD) talked me out of it and now is my biggest supporter (go figure:rolleyes: )

I am in a 2 year part time evening program which is great but it may say it is a "part time" program but we have to put in "full time" work :)

why did you chose nursing? many reasons...i have worked for 11 years in a "caring profession"--child care. i feel nursing is another "caring profession" (or at least ideally it is). my oldest child is a cancer survivor and is austistic. my husband has medical issues. my life experiences just led me to this.

Full or part time?

I'm a full time student in my first semester of a four semester BSN program

Work?

I work very very part time---usually only one or two days a week. But so far, the work schedule has worked out very well.

Age?

Well.......I just celebrated the 3rd anniversary of my 25th birthday.

Single or Married?

Single

Children?

No

Other degrees?

Nothing official, but I have enough hours for a bachelors degree. Too bad I kept changing my major.

:o

Ideal nursing position?

Hopefully, after I get my master's degree, I will end up in either forensics or research.

Why nursing?

I've always been interested in the medical field, and the flexibility of nursing appeals to me.

Great thread!!!! Thank you for starting it.

>>Full or Part time student?

I'm taking 12 hours, so is that FT? Not really sure, my college sucks and I don't even have an advisor.

>>Do you work and go to school?

Yes, I work full-time as an engineering clerk and am just taking pre-reqs online. I was planning on getting a BSN, but will be applying to the ADN program for fall of 2003 (since I'm impatient and they don't have any programs starting in January in my state... unless someone else knows about any in Mississippi?)

Age? 25

Married

Two boys: 4 years and 8 mos

No other degrees

Ideal nursing position? No idea, maybe L&D/CNM, ICU, ER?

Why you chose nursing? I'm absolutely fascinated by medicine and have always wanted a career in a healthcare field... I'm too old/poor to go to med school (which was my original goal/dream), so I'm pursuing nursing instead
