how many classes do you take when you work fulltime for each semester.
For those of you asking questions about online classes, it depends on how self-motivated you are. If you are a great self-starter and you can be your own boss, so to speak, then you will do ok. If you need other students and instructors to motivate you, then you should stick to on-campus. The classes are not easy, but they are do-able. I took A&P I, II and Micro (all with lab) online as well as Human Growth & Development. I got along very well with online classes. I took my through ccconline, however I have also heard that edukan has many different online options as well. Just make sure that the school you are going to attend will allow those credits to transfer in before you take them. Let me know if you have more detailed questions.
Good luck to all! :)

I work full-time and prior to my daughter being born last September, I was taking 2 classes per semester at night. I was able to take the spring semester off, but I'm back this Fall, but only with 1 online course and then next Spring I'll take Micro. Then I'm praying I get into the program for next Fall.:bowingpur

Currently working 32 hours a week as a unit secretary, possibly more here and there if the right shifts become available. I am also a substitute teacher, but I probably won't do that much. I have class two days a week - 13 hours. I am also thinking about doing the EMT program at the local tech school. It's three classes, one per quarter, and part of it is online. I was thinking that I would probably be able to work less as an EMT since their shifts are longer (12's or 24's vs my 8's) so I could work fewer days a week. I'm working the night shift so I usually have at least a couple of hours to study. Classes start in two weeks and I can't wait! This semester I have A&P 1, Psych (Human Development), First Aid, Med. Term., and History to 1865. I was also down for Spanish 1, but I'm probably going to drop that. I'm married with two small kids - ages 2 1/2 and almost 6 years. The husband is currently not working so ME not working isn't an option.

When I was doing prereqs I was taking 5 classes and working about 30 hours a week waiting tables. I'm a single mom with a LOT of support from my family so it worked out pretty well.
I'm starting the nursing program in a week though and I'm pretty nervous about the time I have to put in to my clinicals and skills lab, and also my 2 online classes. I will still be working 30 hours a week, only as an office temp now. I really don't know how I'm going to balance it, I just know I will somehow because I have to!
I work fulltime (40+ hrs/wk plus commute) and limit myself to 2 classes per semester. Maybe if my job wasn't so demanding and rigid on the hours I must be available, I could squeeze in one more but it can get pretty stressful as it is. Online classes make it so much easier, but I registered late and couldn't get any this semester You have to balance getting done faster with not over-extending yourself and compromising your grades.
I have been carrying 6-9 credits of pre-reqs while working 50 hours a week. I am able to maintain A's while not getting to stressed out. I attempted taking 12 credits one semester while working fulltime & ended up dropping two classes because I just didn't have enough time to meet deadlines and felt that I did not have enough time to prepare for tests.

When I worked full time, the most I took was 4 classes and got A's in all of them. I registered for 5 the semester after that, and ended up quitting my job about 1 month into the semester...it was too much to handle, but I had to finish those classes to apply to my program.
