U.S.A. Pennsylvania

Hey y'all! Who else is applying to Jefferson?

You should put in a date when you'll have your bachelors degree.

Hey guys! I was just accepted to the FACT program for May as well:) And Michellepa, I'm coming from out of State too, so I understand! Where are you coming from?? What are you going to do for housing? And what are you guys planning on doing for finances??

Hey Kgrl! Congrats on being accepted! I will be moving from North Carolina and I do not have any idea what I am going to do about housing:/ I have some friends who live in South Jersey and they said that I should think about looking for a place to stay in South Jersey. I will let you know what I find out. I was thinking about taking out another unsubsidized loan for the program.....but I am not sure:/ Where are you moving from? I can't wait to meet you!!!! If you have a facebook page look me up. Try Mika Michelle

Congrats to you too! I'm coming from Arizona...and I have no idea what I'm going to do either-about housing or loans, ha. It's a bit stressful! Do you plan on continuing on with the Master's portion of the program after the BSN? I tried Mika Michelle and there were 3 of them-do you have a husband and a little girl, blonde hair, or a Hawaiian family, haha?

Good question!

I would really like to continue on with the MSN directly after the BSN! My end goal is to become an NP, so the faster I can get there the better. BUT I think work experience as an RN is highly recommended. During my interview I was told that of the 120+ students in last year's FACT program, only 15 went directly into the MSN program and all of them did so on a part time basis while working as RN's. The rest of the class went directly to work. So I'm not sure what to do! What are your thoughts on this?

My goal is also the NP route!

Let's do this!

Hey Guys! @kgrl I may have to get your facebook info:) I was also thinking about jumping right into the NP program full time right after the BSN portion. When I spoke to the admission counselor he gave me the impression that a lot of students either work full time as an RN or go to school part time and complete NP school online too. Hmmm....it makes me wonder if we have to stay around the Philly area at all if we choose the NP route either part or full time. I like the idea of working as a nurse because I definitely need to start paying off my loans, but at the same time, I just want to be finished with school. Decisions, decisions........

^Can you imagine working a 12-hour shift and then coming home to study? I could not do that!

Interesting thought. No, I can not imagine doing that either.

Yeah, I know they seem to really be pushing for working as an RN first. But I agree with you-if those jobs are hard to find, and we ultimately want to be NP's anyway, shouldn't we just go straight into the MSN portion full time and finish quickly? Ugh. Such a complicated decision!
