Is anyone here currently attending (or have you already attended or are you thinking about attending) the Penn State University online RN-BSN program? If so, I'd love to hear from you and your reviews and perspective and any advice or recommendations you have to offer.
I will be graduating with my ASN in May and am looking to start an online BSN program fall semester.
After doing some research, PSU and Ohio University are on my short list. There is a thread dedicated to OU, but not really anything about PSU. So, if you're doing the online RN-BSN at Penn State, I want to hear from you!
I have a cache of college credits from a previous life, so I have most of the core done. I only need two other courses in addition to the upper-level nursing courses, and Penn State allows you to take the core classes concurrently with your nursing courses, rather than having to wait until you finish your core to begin the nursing program. So, if I go full time I could be finished in a year (start Fall 2011, finish Summer 2012).
On paper, I like everything I've read about PSU. Now I'm just looking to collect actual anecdotal evidence from those who have been there.
I have for two courses, however i need to touch bases with my advisor to see if I need to take NURSW because it states "this course satisfies writing"..i have TONS of english courses so im just dbl checking with my advisor to see if i have to take it....if so than yes..I have registered for NURS200W and NURS 251..im taking two courses per semester...
I was also accepted for fall '11 @ PennStates world campus (online)
Im taking NUR357, 390, and 251. Im not currently working so I can devote my time Im a little confused though in terms of the following semesters how clinical is going to be established
has anyone gone through the clinical portions of classes like NUR 465 etc, how does it work?
congrats to all who were accepted
Ive been asked to take Nurs 251 and 390...apparently I didnt need to take nur200w...I to am curious how that course works..lol...however i need to get pass these courses first!...I'll deal with that when i cross that bridge...but i think you have the option of doing a research paper where you currently work or do an actual clinical last time i skimmed through that particular courses course content...lets get through this first semester!..lol...good luck to all who got accepted!....

Hi sunsinegurl. I haven't started yet but I was accepted for the fall semester. I wanted to apply to start in the summer but they said it was too late. So I am going to try to take as many gen Ed courses over the summer. They do have financial aid and I am taking out loans to pay for It. Good luck! :)
