Here are the exact steps to see if you passed the NCLEX exam on the Pearson Vue web site.
Updated:
Very important: At this point, if you get a pop up that says 'the candidate currently has test results that are on hold. A new registration cannot be created at this time.', it has nothing to do with passing or failing; it just means that they are reviewing your records due to random reviews that they conduct, or because they needed to locate some data or papers, etc.
This means you will possibly have to wait a few more days than your friends who did not get this message. If you get the message 'Records indicates you have recently registered for this test please contact BON. An appointment cannot be scheduled at this time.', that means you passed. If you do not get either message and go straight to the credit card information page, that means you did not pass.
Your Pearsonvue account must state that delivery is successful before you try the trick.

I just took my NCLEX-PN in Ohio today. Test stopped at 90 questions. As soon as I was done with my exam and got in my car, I did the PV trick. It said "Our records indicate that you have recently scheduled this exam. Please contact your Member Board for further assistance. Another registration cannot be made at this time". Is this a good sign?! I'm freaking out majorly. They say the exam is also reviewed by your state's BON so is this trick still reliable? I sure hope so
I took my NCLEX-PN on December 27, 2012 and i came out knowing i failed with tears in my eyes and feeling as if i didn't know anything. As soon as i got home (40 min later) i tried the trick and got the good pop up "our records indicates you have recently registered for this test please contact your Member Board. an appointment can not be scheduled at this time". When i went to my state page this morning (12/28/12) i had an active license so it worked for me!!
I've been creeping these boards off and on this past semester, but a lot lately with the nclex this month. Just wanted to say that I took it the 27th and tried the PVT a few hours later.
I got the "good popup" and found out I passed via the quick results on the 29th!! So it worked for me ?
