Part 1 (the original thread)--
Pearsonvue "Trick". Is this TRUE? Does it Work Every Time?
Poll to take once you have received your response--
Pearson Vue Trick - Poll once you receive your results
Here are the exact steps to see if you passed or failed the NCLEX exam on the pearson vue web site:
1) go to http://www.vue.com/NCLEX.
2) select the 'test taker services' tab at the top.
3) click 'register' on the right side.
4) click the 'credit card' link.
5) click the 'sign in' link in the second sentence.
6) enter your username.
7) enter your password.
? click the button.
9) click 'register' on the left side.
10) select your test type.
11) click the button.
12) select your country.
13) click the button.
14) answer the yes/no questions.
15) select your country again.
16) select your state.
17) type in your city.
18) click the button. a list of schools should appear.
19) select your school.
20) select the month and year of your graduation.
21) select your board of nursing.
22) click the button.
Very important: at this point, if you get a pop up that says 'the candidate currently has test results that are on hold. a new registration cannot be created at this time.', it has nothing to do with passing or failing; It just means that they are reviewing your records due to random reviews that they conduct, or because they needed to locate some data or papers, etc. This means you will possibly have to wait a few more days than your friends who did not get this message. If you get the message 'our records indicate that you have recently scheduled this exam. Please contact your member board for further assistance. another registration cannot be made at this time.', that means you passed. If you do not get either message and go straight to the credit card information page, that means you did not pass.
Your pearsonvue account must state that delivery is successful before you try the trick
I did not want to believe this trick. I took the nclex exam last wednesday at 8:00 am NY. My first time. My computer shut off at 75. I didn't know how I felt that time. Relieved since it was 75 and scared 'cause it was 75. I had alot of SATAs, infection control, medications, and prioritization. But somehow I felt the questions were relatively easy, and that's when I started panickin 'cause it's never a good sign when you're very familiar with the question. So I went home. This is where I first heard about the 'trick'. I tried it, and it went directly to the payment. I didnt want to believe at first, but reading all of your comments, it seemed accurate and the next two days I was stuck in bedrest. Was crying all night. Then I got my quick result and i failed. Now I'm a firm believer. Believe it.Anyways, I'm a foreign educated BSN graduate of 2009, but am a greencard holder. I had to go through the whole CVS thing which explains why it took so long to schedule the exam. I finally had my ATT in June 12, then I scheduled for July 28, 2010. I blame myself for slacking off a bit and choosing a date that allowed me little time to study. I've been reviewing before that, but it was not comprehensive. I've studied both Kaplan and Saunders reviewers, and I always get consistent scores of above 75% and probably studied over 4000 questions. I though that was enough, but apparently it's not. NCLEX is totally different and it doesnt give you flat out the best answer. It almost always makes you choose between two best answers. I have reregistered again. And this time, I just have to be more focused. It's heartbreaking to tell your parents you failed.
I'm 21 btw
Sorry to hear you didn't pass the nclex. It can be very difficult to study material that is very broad. I did the Kaplan course on-line and that seemed to help me. Have you tried the Kaplan course? It would help you focus on areas that you may struggle with. You WILL be successful next time! Try not to let this discourage you! You are going to make an incredible nurse!!!
Update:The PVT worked for me, but unfortunately I failed. I have already signed up for NCSBNs 8 week course and I'm hoping that helps a lot. Looking back I didn't study as I should have, I guess. Anyway, I will retake in 45 days and I don't think I'm going to do the PVT, just in case. As my RN mom says, "What do they call a nurse that takes to boards more than once? They are called nurses."
Your mom is right!
SS you got cc page. I haven't met a person yet that the trick was wrong for. All you can do is hit the books, figure out your weaknesses, and move forward so that next time you get your pass. Just don't give up, you made it through nursing school and you can and will pass the nclex. The trick isn't your official results though, but if it's right (which normally is) then just get back to work. Good luck
I live in VA and took my NCLEX for the second time on thursday the 29th. i immediately ran home and tried the Pearson Vue trick and it let me go all the way through to the credit card payment option. does this mean i failed? is this trick really true?
Yeah, hate to say this but it really does work. It sucks I know, but the best we can do is just move forward and have better studying plans and techniques. Don't give up until you're nurse! That's all that matters in the end. Not how many times you take it but what you're going to be
AKAnurse4: I got the same pop up or message. There was a bit of delay in the Pearson website before I saw that delivery successful but I kept on getting the same message. After 48 hours, checked Pearson site and saw that results ready and if I want, I cant pay the quick result which I did prior to going to church that saturday night. PASS. Since that was a Saturday night when I did the quick result, I checked the FL DOH website but it took a few more days before my name appeared with license number. Hope this helps.Congratulations in advance. And yes, I was humbled by this test. Thought I was soo prepared but I was wrong. God kept His promise and I passed :-) All Glory to the Lord.
Thanks so much!!! I feel like i can relax this weekend!!! Unfortunately, my state does not participate in "Quick Results" so i have to wait till i pop up on the BON website on Monday or Tuesday!! God is truly GOOD ALL THE TIME!!! Thanks again an good luck!
PVT trick worked for me and it helped me so much waiting those two days! They are the longest two days ever! I had around 150 questions 5-8 SATA and a ton of who do you see first. Hope that helps some people who dont get 75 and out. Because I know that was one thing making me nervous because thats what most of the messages are. So there is hope if you dont get 75 questions! =)
