Part 1 (the original thread)--

Pearsonvue "Trick". Is this TRUE? Does it Work Every Time?

Poll to take once you have received your response--

Pearson Vue Trick - Poll once you receive your results

Here are the exact steps to see if you passed or failed the NCLEX exam on the pearson vue web site:

1) go to http://www.vue.com/NCLEX.

2) select the 'test taker services' tab at the top.

3) click 'register' on the right side.

4) click the 'credit card' link.

5) click the 'sign in' link in the second sentence.

6) enter your username.

7) enter your password.

? click the button.

9) click 'register' on the left side.

10) select your test type.

11) click the button.

12) select your country.

13) click the button.

14) answer the yes/no questions.

15) select your country again.

16) select your state.

17) type in your city.

18) click the button. a list of schools should appear.

19) select your school.

20) select the month and year of your graduation.

21) select your board of nursing.

22) click the button.

Very important: at this point, if you get a pop up that says 'the candidate currently has test results that are on hold. a new registration cannot be created at this time.', it has nothing to do with passing or failing; It just means that they are reviewing your records due to random reviews that they conduct, or because they needed to locate some data or papers, etc. This means you will possibly have to wait a few more days than your friends who did not get this message. If you get the message 'our records indicate that you have recently scheduled this exam. Please contact your member board for further assistance. another registration cannot be made at this time.', that means you passed. If you do not get either message and go straight to the credit card information page, that means you did not pass.

Your pearsonvue account must state that delivery is successful before you try the trick

k the test yesterday at 1400. I answered 196 questions when the program just shut off and it took me about 3.5 hours to get that far. I was secretly devastated but held my composure until I could get into my car and cry in private. I was sure I failed just like the sky is blue. I started thinking "well maybe I can be a cna then if nothing else." I don't know how many SATA questions I got but it had to be at least 30 or so. The only type of question I did not have was any math. Most of my questions seemed to be about prioritization (something I knew I was weak at) and there were weird questions about diseases I had never even heard of before so I assume those were "throw-out" questions. I am not sure what I can really say I was tested on here... I am kind of paranoid lol... but yes, most of the questions seemed to be about prioritizing and infection control. To be honest, infection control is a weak point for me. There's so many illnesses I forget which are specifically droplet or contact precautions and there were soooo many questions asking how you'd deal with the situation. There were therapeutic response questions which we all assume are the "easy" questions. I got many of those. I had a few questions based on a certain popular psych drug and its side effects. I got quite a few cardiac drug questions but all those seemed easy to me, they were a big part of our cardiac unit in nursing school. And so many diabetes questions.... lots of PACU questions, too. Don't neglect that area of studying at all, lol.

I don't know. I think over half the questions were hard to me because I really did not know the answer. So I just tried my best to rationalize each possible answer. My nursing instructors (in a school where the nclex passing rate is over 98% every year) were great by telling us all that you haVe to always choose the answer that might cause a patient to die in the next five minutes. Pain can ALWAYS wait if someone else has something going on that can turn life threatening quickly. ALSO, NEVER forget your ABC's. The NCLEX seems to be big on focusing the priority questions in that direction.

So I got the good pop up with PVT today. I was so upset and sure I failed yesterday but after reading hundreds and hundreds of people today saying how accurate the PVT is for them, I feel very happy now. :)

I feel skeptical that I am the one person it won't work for but I know those odds are against me. I am excited :)

So... I have not read every reply in this thread. Has anyone EVER gotten the good pop up and still failed? Has that ever happened???

I feel so terrible right now for a friend. :crying2: I passed the NCLEX earlier this month and I've been trying to be supportive of all my classmates who have yet to take it. My friend took it this morning and left feeling like she failed. I assured her that most people feel that way and that she should do the PVT for a little reassurance since she was a "basket case". Now English is not her primary language so I helped her do the PVT while speaking to her on the phone. I couldn't believe it when she told me it was saying something about verifying payment on the next page! This is a really smart lady but she said she felt like the NCLEX content was totally different from Kaplan, which is what she studied. I don't know how to help her through this. She has a job which of course she will have to give up at least temporarily once the BON expires her interim permit. The only good thing about that is she will have more time to study. :uhoh3:

collie32, that is awful. We had the sweetest male nurse in our class who had to take the year twice because he was an immigrant from Cambodia and struggled with the medical terms. He never graduated :/

My condolences out to your friend, I can't imagine how hard it is for her. Nursing is tough enough without trying to do it in a language you are not completely familair with.

Did I say too much about what I was tested on? Do I need to delete that stuff? Now I am paranoid. Really... did I give too much info? I tried to stay away from specifics.

Thank you stressinggirl. During nursing school I remember her saying she barely got 4 hrs sleep per night because she stayed up late studying and then got up a couple hours before class to study some more. She even had to learn how to read cursive handwriting when she was taking pre-reqs! She passed with a ADN in May and failing anything is very hard on her. She has a supportive husband but they do need for her to work as soon as possible since she didn't work during school. I know she will do it and I will just try to continue to be as supportive as I can.
