Part 1 (the original thread)--

Pearsonvue "Trick". Is this TRUE? Does it Work Every Time?

Poll to take once you have received your response--

Pearson Vue Trick - Poll once you receive your results

Here are the exact steps to see if you passed or failed the NCLEX exam on the pearson vue web site:

1) go to http://www.vue.com/NCLEX.

2) select the 'test taker services' tab at the top.

3) click 'register' on the right side.

4) click the 'credit card' link.

5) click the 'sign in' link in the second sentence.

6) enter your username.

7) enter your password.

? click the button.

9) click 'register' on the left side.

10) select your test type.

11) click the button.

12) select your country.

13) click the button.

14) answer the yes/no questions.

15) select your country again.

16) select your state.

17) type in your city.

18) click the button. a list of schools should appear.

19) select your school.

20) select the month and year of your graduation.

21) select your board of nursing.

22) click the button.

Very important: at this point, if you get a pop up that says 'the candidate currently has test results that are on hold. a new registration cannot be created at this time.', it has nothing to do with passing or failing; It just means that they are reviewing your records due to random reviews that they conduct, or because they needed to locate some data or papers, etc. This means you will possibly have to wait a few more days than your friends who did not get this message. If you get the message 'our records indicate that you have recently scheduled this exam. Please contact your member board for further assistance. another registration cannot be made at this time.', that means you passed. If you do not get either message and go straight to the credit card information page, that means you did not pass.

I took the NCLEX-RN on June 7 @ 2pm. I prepared myself before hand that I could get between 75-265 questions, so if I surpassed 75q, no big deal. Test ended at 75q. I was absolutely sure I would have to retake the test, just knew I failed. There was only one question on the test I absolutely knew the correct answer. Test anxiety is a big issue for me, normally when I take tests, especially standarized exams my heart is pounding so loud, that I cant hear myself think, cant concentrate and constantly second guess myself. This time I did not. Remained totally calm from start to finish. My attitude was, it is not the end of the world no matter what happens. Four hours after I finished, I found info on the PVT, never heard of it before, tried it and got the "good pop up". Refused to pay for quick results at 48 hr mark, figured I'd wait. Today, I'm a licensed RN according to BON website. Just glad it is over. I found a great of solace reading posts here from others. Good Luck to those waiting and preparing. Congrats to those that passed. Keep your head up to those that did not pass.

Took NCLEX RN on Wednesday, June 8 and had all 265 questions. Felt like I failed like we all do :) Did the PV trick, got the good pop-up, paid the money yesterday to get the quick results and passed :) Now just waiting for license # to be posted :)

What is the Pearson trick?

It's a trick to see if you passed or not before you get your official results. Basically, if you try to re-register to take the NCLEX for the 2nd time and a pop-up comes up saying that another registration cannot be made, it means you passed. If you are sent to the credit card page to pay for your 2nd NCLEX, it means you failed. BUT I've read here that the NCLEX is graded twice and just because you are taken to the credit card page doesn't exactly mean you failed.

I took mine yesterday on June 10th. After I reached 75 and the screen went on to 76 I sat there and took a deep breath. Once it reached about 140 I had a breakdown and had to take a break. I cried in the lobby, wiped my tears, drank some water and went back in to complete the test. I kept getting questions and at 230 I made myself take another break, cry a little more, take another water break and went back in. After 240 I quit looking at the numbers. About 6 or 7 questions later my computer screen went blue. Seeing people leave throughout the whole time made me even more nervous. So I got to about 247 I believe. I cried going to the parking lot because I was SURE I failed. I NEVER in my life felt sooooo bad on an exam. I cried all the way home and called my husband to let him know how badly I did on the exam. When I got home I came on allnurses to get some encouragement and came across the PVT. I tried it about three hours after my exam and got the "good" pop up. I am REALLY hoping I passed. I can't imagine going through the dreadful experience again. :/

I also tried the trick and I have to say, it works!! I took the test 6/8 and tried the trick, I got the good pop up. I paid the quick result fee to confirm yesterday and I passed! I was so sure I failed. I got the minimum 75 questions and I felt like I only knew about 5 of the answers. I guess I knew more than I thought I did.. I'm an RN!!!!

No more tests, no more exams.. it's OVER!!! Now life can begin again!

Nervouswreck11,

If you got the good pop up, I'm sure you passed! Even though tomorrow is Sunday, you should still be able to get the "Quick Results" for $7.95. Many of my classmates have gotten their quick results on the weekend.

Just breathe a sigh of relief that you got the good pop up.. I'd bet $$ on this trick. Before taking the exam I read all 1005 pages on this trick from 2009. I really believe it works!! So, Congrats!!:yeah:

I checked the Pearson website at ~10:30, after taking my test from 8 to 9 AM. It was updated by then. I've heard it takes longer for some though. Good luck!

The trick works!!! I passed and my number is posted on BON!!!!!!!!!! Good Luck you guys!!!!!!!

Hello! Long time Lurker here...

I took my NCLEX on 6/8, shut off at 75. I did the trick when I got home and got the "good pop-up" still paid the $8 to get my early results and PASSED! Yeah!

Hi all,

New member here, but i've been reading this forums off and on since I started nursing school. On Friday June 10, I took my NCLEX PN. The computer shut off at 85 questions. I got out of the testing center at around 0945. I walked out feeling dumber than dumb. Was stressed so I went and did some retail therapy. I did the PVT when I got home and I got the "good pop up." I couldn't believe my eyes. I'm thrilled but there's also that "what ifs.." hoping to see my results soon.

I have been reading these forums since before i got into nursing school but have mostly been a lurker. I took the NCLEX-RN this morning, and the test shut off on me at 75 questions. About an hour later I was able to get the PVT to work, and it gave me the "good pop-up" :) That was definitely the most horrendous exam i have taken though! really hoping i actually passed!
