Part 1 (the original thread)--

Pearsonvue "Trick". Is this TRUE? Does it Work Every Time?

Poll to take once you have received your response--

Pearson Vue Trick - Poll once you receive your results

Here are the exact steps to see if you passed or failed the NCLEX exam on the pearson vue web site:

1) go to http://www.vue.com/NCLEX.

2) select the 'test taker services' tab at the top.

3) click 'register' on the right side.

4) click the 'credit card' link.

5) click the 'sign in' link in the second sentence.

6) enter your username.

7) enter your password.

? click the button.

9) click 'register' on the left side.

10) select your test type.

11) click the button.

12) select your country.

13) click the button.

14) answer the yes/no questions.

15) select your country again.

16) select your state.

17) type in your city.

18) click the button. a list of schools should appear.

19) select your school.

20) select the month and year of your graduation.

21) select your board of nursing.

22) click the button.

Very important: at this point, if you get a pop up that says 'the candidate currently has test results that are on hold. a new registration cannot be created at this time.', it has nothing to do with passing or failing; It just means that they are reviewing your records due to random reviews that they conduct, or because they needed to locate some data or papers, etc. This means you will possibly have to wait a few more days than your friends who did not get this message. If you get the message 'our records indicate that you have recently scheduled this exam. Please contact your member board for further assistance. another registration cannot be made at this time.', that means you passed. If you do not get either message and go straight to the credit card information page, that means you did not pass.

Did you have any alternate type of questions encountered like ECG and sounds?

Yes, sounds; pics, etc...

Yes, sounds; pics, etc...

What material is good to review for those alternate type of questions? are you from the phil?

there is no specific material to review. when i looked at the questions i may had 15 questions that i was 100% sure about the answers. my personal advice is to practice n-clex questions as much as you can. the more you practice, the more you'll get use to picking the right answer. there are tons of books, cd and websites for practicing. i would practice and see the rationales immediately after picking your answer, this way you can educate your brain to think like the n-clex test. i still don't know if i passed, but i got the good pop-up and had my test shut off at 85. i am not worried; the worst thing it can happen is for me to have to take it again.

good luck!

how does one UN-subscribe from a thread on all-nurses?? i can;t seem to find a way to do it. thanks.

i had to guess most of the answers! is insane that you have to spend months and months in school and when you take the damn test everything looks chinese

i totally agree with you. i took my exam on 10/21. when i walked out from the test room and i asked myself,"why did i spend 2 and a half years for the nursing degree and why was i so stupid to spend a lot of time preparing for the nclex? nonsense and crazy!"

i wasn't too nervous before the exam because i thought i was well prepared. however, after i started the exam and answered a couple of questions, i began to stare at the computer and those questions without anything in my mind. i checked the time and closed my eyes to take deep breath each time i finished one question and that is the reason i spent 2 and a half hours for 75 questions. i knew i was crazy and i knew i should speed up in case i had to take 265 questions, but i couldn't help behaving like that. after the exam, i walked out of the test room, forgetting to put on my shoes.

a lot of sata questions, meds which was the hard part, one picture, a couple of peds, elderly, ob, and psychiatrics questions. a couple of diseases i never met during the nursing program and in the kaplan practice. the similarity between the real exam and the kaplan i think is the way by which they post questions. the contents are totally different. abc didn't help me in the exam and i used a lot of elimination and common sense to answer those questions.

after i went back home, i did some reseach because i wanted to know correct answers for those questions. i found test strategy very important(especially the elimination) and critical thinking is very important. think deeply and flexibly because no straight answers are there waiting for you.

i saw my name on the nursing board at 3 am today. i want to thank a lot of helpers here.

practice questions and think deeply and flexibly when you answer questions.

good luck, everyone.

merging with existing thread for continuity

Hello everyone;

Just want to give you an update on my results. I've PASSED! The "PVT" is amazing! For those downers who love to find "hair on an egg-shell", stop talking bad about the "PVT". It works, is not a glitch on the PV system! Is not an official result! But it helps a lot of people to cope with the anxiety of waiting for the "quick results" or a letter in the mail. It helped me a great deal. I was sure I had failed the test and spent the last two nights reading the posts on this thread. It was the only thing keeping me from going insane. It is a GOOD thing, and besides that if you follow all the steps correctly it works every time! Good luck to all of you and "the PVT be with you!"
