Pearson Vue Pop Up Meanings

Published

There has been some confusion when it comes to the NCLEX Pearson Vue Trick. So I wanted to clarify a few things. If the pop up you receive begins with "our records indicate" you have a 99.9% chance of passing the NCLEX. If the pop up states "results are on hold" that does not indicate passing or failing. For whatever reason they decided to look at your test a little closer or audit it and you should try the trick again in a couple of hours. If you receive the pop up "you have another test scheduled" you checked too early and need to retry again in a couple of hours. VERY IMPORTANT: before you try the test, make sure your status on the Pearson Vue website says delivery successful. If you try it before it says that you will receive the last pop up I mentioned. Last but not least, if it takes you to the credit card page, the liklihood that you failed is 99.9%. I do not say 100% because glitches do happen and there is rarely that one person who claims they passed even though it went to the credit card page. Well there you have it. I took the Nclex June 14 and received 75qs. I got the good pop up! I used Kaplan to review as well.

 Wow. This post totally went left field. I just took my test and was HOPING to discuss "the trick" and did it work for candidates or not and how they felt leaving the examination. Instead, this post has turned into "I don't believe in it" "watch how I word things etc". It's honestly a little annoying. It's my opinion. I feel it is 99.9% correct most of the time. 42 of my classmates did the trick and got the good pop up and passed. 1 person went to the credit card page and she failed!!!! There are reasons why I think 99.9% of the time I think it works. Can we just leave it at that. If you disagree, OK!!!! But this post was to discuss results and clear up misconceptions about the pop ups.

I am glad you post about the pop ups, most post that I found just said I got the good pop up or the bad. Nothing really discussed the process. I understood the point you were trying to make. I took the test on Saturday and got the good pop up and understand that I can not be sure until I pay for the results or wait to be notified. Thanks for starting this discussion! Congrats on getting the good pop up, I have not found one post of anyone getting the good pop up and failing ;)

Congrats!!! How did you feel leaving the examination? ? Honestly, I was not anxious when I took it because I felt I could not study anymore than I did. Even when my test shut off at 75, I did not feel I failed. I felt pretty good and that scared me because most people say they feel they failed after. But I got the good pop up and I felt better. I am just glad it's over honestly. I have a job interview tomorrow so everything is falling into place! Are you job hunting as well??? P.S. yes it WAS challenging, but I took educated guesses and went with my gut.

I felt more confident then I thought I would. I prepared myself to do as many questions as they would through at me. I was surprised when the blue screen popped up at 75. I felt the test was challenging but very doable. Other classmates said it was hard but finished with 75-79 questions. They thought they could have failed but they didn't. They also got the good pop up and paid for the results after. Good luck with your job interview! I got a couple job offers the first couple of weeks in our last semester. I took an surgery position and started last week. I should be sleeping right now but still excited to go into work!

To RN_Student14: I think what LadyFree was getting at (at least, what I was getting at, and I think she further commented on) is I was just questioning your use of "99.9% accuracy" and wondering how you arrived at that. You explained the nursing process you learned in school.....and while I appreciate that, it only further indicates you should know how to arrive at a factual statistic (or know it's NOT a statistic, but a number pulled from the air).

I'm not debating what the pop up means, by any stretch. Only that I dislike seeing numbers that ARE pulled from the air presented as factual, as statistics. "99.9% accuracy" is not a number you can verify....you made a guess because it was the closest thing you could get to 100% and not say 100%.

Guesswork is not fact, that's all. As for the rest.....we agree. It's a trick, a guess, and for most people, relatively reliable. I do get concerned when I see some people believing it's just another way to get to an official result---and then are wholly disappointed.

I passed!!! My license was issued today. So happy! Again, I used Kaplan and utilized the entire site (trainers, q bank, sample test, focus review test). I also did the readiness test and scored a 68. And a 65 for the diagnostic. The test was not hard for me at all!!!!! Yes, there were some challenging questions, but I felt so prepared that I just took educated guesses and everything worked out. I had 75qs. Good luck everyone.

Did you watch the videos? What were your Q trainer scores

Did you watch the videos? What were your Q trainer scores

No I did not watch the videos. I did all the q bank questions (over 1000) and read all rationales. My scores ranged from 58% to 67% on trainers. After I finished, I read the rationale as well. There is also a priority sample test available I recommend that. And an alternative sample test with nothing but select all and arrange in order (highly recommend it).

Thank you for the reply!! My anxiety is just so overwhelming sometimes. (Most times) Were Kaplan SATA more difficult than NCLEX in your opinion? What did you get the most of besides SATA. Thnx!

Infection control, priority and delegation!!!! Review, review, review those sections! I felt over all the SATA were straight forward. Yes, some were difficult, but I read the choices and the ones that seemed off, or stood out, I did not choose. The reason why SATA can be intimidating is because honestly some people do not know the content. You really have to understand the disease process and know WHY someone with cushings syndrome is usually hypokalemic and not just memorize answers! Really take the time to study content if you do not understand WHY something is happening. What resources are you using? By the way, I would stick to one resource. Do not overwhelm yourself by using more than two resources.
