Hi
I have been doing research about LPN schools and employment. I came across a school name PCCTi located in Chicago or Oakbrook. Anyone gone there to do there program? Please tell me any information about this school? Was it a challenging program? I appreciate anyone who can help me out here. Need to make some decisions but would love to know from someone who actually took the classes.
Thank you and have a good day!!
Hi,
I am doing an LPN course at PCCTI.
Finished NUR 101 and gone to NUR 102. Based on my experience, I can vouch it to be one of the best LPN schools in the area.
Extremely helpful , experienced and qualified RN's teach courses . The staff is very friendly courteous.
Some posts I see are of the students who are not regular or are students who are ****** off because they want the instructors to pass them despite poor performance.
This school has incorporated Hesi review questions as part of their class .
I know of various students who have passed their NCLEX thru this school and are having multiple job offer.
MY THUMBS UP TO THIS SCHOOL. WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ANYBODY.
EMAIL ME IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS.

This is a joke, right? We just lost our DEAN because of the incompetence of this ridiculous "school". Policies change left and right with NO notice to students. Each LPN class has been through at LEAST 2 instructor's and the clinical sites are a joke. The dean Trudy was the only good person at this school...I would NEVER EVER recommend this school to ANYONE. Oh, the school has not incorporated HESI as a review...they have changed their policy and decided to count each HESI test as 40% of the final grade. The staff is ridiculously unfriendly.
And if it matters, no one in my class has lower than a B average, so no-we aren't annoyed at the school because we are failing. We are annoyed because we paid almost 17,000 and have no stable teachers(or any that actually change), the policies are changed everyday, and everyone is RUDE.
Actually what they told you about the tuition is false. It's not all upfront. You pay 5K up front and the in installments. If you fail out before the half they have to give you the money back.I would definetly encourage people to NOT post anything negative about the school on this site. I'm positive there are people from the school checking these sites all the time. You really don't want that to come back on you. If you want to disclose personal experiences that are negative - I would do so via pm...and even then- make sure you know who you're talking to before you bad mouth someone.

This is exactly what I was talking about a few posts ago when I said not to talk bad about the school online. There are obviously people that work for the company on here. :sigh: Please PLEASE PLEASE I beg you guys if you want to discuss this school do it off line. We've invested time and money and hard work into this and we don't want to loose it all because we went off half cocked on a website.
I am doing nur 101 at oakbrook with pccti.
In the 4 th month. Clinicals are good, instructors balanced. Cooperative.
Yes an instructor was changed, but with the rotation in nursing field , i personally know that in harper they have 7 to 8 instructors rotating for each semester.
Moreover all the instructors are very competent and cooperative.
Yes this shcool is paranoid about discipline, but that works for us . The more we understand rules the better nurses we would be.
I would recommend this school to anybody.
If they incorporated hesi or any other rules , why are we afraid, if we have knowledge and are smart , we would ace it.
Let us get our act together, stop finding fault and work to becoming great nurses.
I am very satisfied till now. Any questions email me . You will get honest answers.
We are here not to friend instructors but to extract the most out of them!!
For me a better instructor is the one who is a hard taskmaster !!

Hi everyone!!
I would like to let everyone know that I am currently taking the LPN course at pccti in oakbrook. I want to warn everyone about this school....so here it is...I started this program in 2008 and just finishing my first semester. However, I was on a long and bumpy roller coaster ride. Our class has gone through 4 teachers already because they ended up quiting due to our president of the school (very stuburn, hardheaded, and ignorant man I might add). This man does not listen to no one. No opinion nor feedback from anyone. Within my first semester, he changed the policy on us. We had to take the first hesi for nursing 101 and pass with a 900 score. The president said it was a "requirement" and it will count towards your grade by 40%. You don't pass, you don't go on to nursing 102; bottom line. This was just changed on us 2 weeks prior of taking the test. Half of my class failed the first hesi test. You're talking about 9 people passed out of 19. Now, the 10 people that didn't pass, has to repeat 101 again with additional cost next to their original tuition. OMG, this is sooo sad:(. In addition, we get teachers that doesn't know how to lecture nor teach. So, everyday in class we sit there and read our book and basically teach ourself. The class has been trying to bring the policy changing to the president's attention but he would ignore us and instead, punish us. This thursing is my final for nursing 101 and he assured our teacher to make this final the most difficult final she can make and it has to be approved by him before we can take it. Um, yeah, I feel like I just dug myself in a hole and can't get out . Oh and if you miss a payment or forgot to pay them, they will be hunting you down and won't let you attend class until you do. Oh and the cost is $17,000 now. You would think that if a tuition cost this much, it would be a quality education but no this is not the case. Oh yeah, they will send you to the worst clinical sites ever; I'm talking about dirty, stinky, and ghetto;for example, Burgess square, Holy cross Hospital.
With all this being said, DON'T GO TO THIS SCHOOL!!! If you can, just wait to go somewhere else. You will be much happier. If I can get my money back and start somewhere else, I would.
Good luck to all.
I just finished my nclex exam with flying colors.
I am an lpn today.
Thanks to my instructors and excellent curriculum at pccti.
One year of hardwork paid dividends today.
I had two choices to distract myself and talk about all negativity and find negatives about the school or take the positives and become a competent nurse.
Love pccti. Would always appreciate its contribution to my life and career.
High on discipline and learning.
Way to go pccti!!! Thanks !!!
To Karen,
So, you passed the nclex, hurray for you :zzzzz. You may have gone through the program probably with little or no changes; so you wouldn't know what students here are putting up with. With last minute changes left and right without forwarning kinda tells you how the school is ran. For those that are still here are SUFFERRING!!! All of the classes here are hoping and praying that nothing else will change at the last minute. I just think that going to school is already hard enough, why create another problem for the students?!
ENOUGH SAID.

I wasn't talking down on the school... they were only annoying me cuz they kept calling me after i told them each time to update their computer and not to call again. they said sorry and that they would make sure no one would call again..but that didn't happen. Its no biggie but just annoying. I am not a student there so I have nothin bad to say about this school. And as for the tuition they never told me I would get my money back.. they said I can retake the class up to 3 times. And yes u are right about the 5,000 up front first(checked my notes when I called them back in april). My mistake about the full 15 or 17 up front.
Hey molly...r u at chicago campus? I wish u best of luck and hope things get better for u.
