U.S.A. Illinois

Published

Hi

I have been doing research about LPN schools and employment. I came across a school name PCCTi located in Chicago or Oakbrook. Anyone gone there to do there program? Please tell me any information about this school? Was it a challenging program? I appreciate anyone who can help me out here. Need to make some decisions but would love to know from someone who actually took the classes.

Thank you and have a good day!!

hi , how are u I've applyed to this program and hope to start this year , please is Sally May the only loan people for this program ...I really need to be approved for a loan ...fast...how are u paying ? and how do u like it so far .,..would u say it's difficult? please keep in touch with me in my reg e-mail [email protected] ...I am really curious about how things go for other students in this program b/c this is a lot of money to invest, I need to know that I'm stand a chance of doing welll, and how was that hesi test for u, I've yet to do it but was told I only need to do the A&P part of it ....any hints on how to better pass that test? ty so much if u can reply soon.

Hi Queen,

I'm pretty sure you can go anywhere for the loan (bank etc) since it's considered a private loan. My advice is to pay it off as early as possible though because even with great credit the interest rate is still high. I think the program is challenging . There is a lot of material but it's spaced out well so there's not too much at once. The lead instructor for my program is awesome- she explains things until everyone gets it and she genuinely shows care for her students.

As far as the hesi- I only took the A&P part too. I would definetly know the basic cell parts/cell function, Anatomical strucutres and functions, there were quite a few on the knee/patella/ viscous matter around the patella, vastus lateralis. I actually studied from a Medical Terminology book that I had since it had basic anatomy. Know your body planes and quadrants etc. And once you think you've studied enough- study some more!! Good luck!

thank you so much for all this good info.

I am starting this program in September in Oak Brook(evenings). I am very encouraged to read this info because I have heard mixed things about the program. I took all of the HESI exams(my english and math were too old) and got 90's on all. They were sort of surprised that I did so well and told me that many students have to take it at least twice. Also, I really found that you can't study for those exams. There are only 25 questions on the A&P section and so much material you would have to study. The math and english could be studied for.

DeepSeekingNursing, could you email me? I have some specific admin questions that I don't want to post here. My email is [email protected]. Thanks!!

deepseek sue,

ur post held valuable information. thank you soo much for sharing that with us. I want to also say best of luck and you sound like you will do fine! Yes soo true about when you are studying,,, keeping studying even when you feel you studied enough.

Rdcat....wish you also the best of luck and thank you for the information on the hesi math and science. You both will be fine nurses!!!:bow:

keep posts going and take care:up::up::up::D

Im currently attending the lpn program in pccti. the school sucks! im very very disappointed ive already spent $7000 so i have to stay n complete it. staff is unprofessional. everyone says whatever they want without any knowledge they are very disrespectful also when its time for a payment they dont let u know ahead of time but come in ur class on the day of the payment and in front of the whole class they drag u out n make u pay there n then if not they give u 1 day b4 ur gone 4 good. im not making this up ask people that actually go there theyll tell ya the same thing.i am absolutely disgusted with PCCTI's services. If u havent given then any money or if u thinking about going there save ur time and money and mone on to some other school and DO YOUR HOMEWORK! PCCTI IS NO GOOOOOD!

wow i am surprised a bit to hear this. i am guessing like most nursing school there are ups and downs. u should talk to administrator about this. when i went to visit this school back in april about the lpn program i told them I would have to think more about it. They have called me like 8 times and have told them not to call becuz i need to take my prereq classe. Then i told them i wasn't comfortable paying 15,000 up front for the 1yr. I told them what if i fail like by the 2nd month....well they said I am allowed three chances to take the classes...HMMM.. i hope that is true.

Well I am sorry to hear about ur story and I hope u continue with the program just so u can graduate and begin working or whatever ur future plans are. Thanks for alerting us about this incident and ur opinions about PCCTI.

Actually what they told you about the tuition is false. It's not all upfront. You pay 5K up front and the in installments. If you fail out before the half they have to give you the money back.

I would definetly encourage people to NOT post anything negative about the school on this site. I'm positive there are people from the school checking these sites all the time. You really don't want that to come back on you. If you want to disclose personal experiences that are negative - I would do so via pm...and even then- make sure you know who you're talking to before you bad mouth someone.

OH they all know how we feel about them when i was taking a&p there were fights outside in the lobby. They always mess up everyones stuff. schedules payments, files, loans, misspelled names n all their never ending excuses and promises. They never check their msgs or voice males if something needs to be done by them u better make sure u do it urself because its never going to get don if left to them...no1s ever going to go surf the net to find out what people think about pccti and if they do trust me it will be no news. BTW tuition is 17000 for LPN and guess what u cant use the printer there thats the kind of school pccti is :wink2:

I'm not saying that they don't know how upset some people are. I'm in the LPN program there too. And trust me, I've had my issues. I'm just giving you a little FYI- LOTS of people google PCCTI to see if they can find info on the school. That's how I found this post several months ago. Recently, I found a whole chat board of digruntled sonography students, and guess what there was a PCCTI employee on there too. Just watch what you say, you don't want them coming back to you and using things you said here against you.

I hate them sooooo much!

Please talk to some of the students at PCCTI before attending this school. I'm about ready to finish and die at the same time:banghead:. Attending this school has truly be one the worst experiences of my life. What kind of school uses crigslist as a method of hiring teacher's? We have had seven teacher and counting, with no warning that they are leaving. They just don't show up the next week. I could write book about this place, but my suggestion to any one considering this school is to try and talk to any of the current students!

imgggg u have to read my posts!!!!! i didnt even see urs until now ! this is so true pccti is the worst school ever!

I would also like to know more about the private LPN schools around. I know that there is a LONG waiting list at just about every community college and I'm unwilling to wait any longer. What's PCCTI's NCLEX pass rate? Are there any other private schools anyone has had experience with and recommend? How about specific school I should stay away from? Any info would be great! Thanks!

"How about specific school I should stay away from?" that would be PCCTI
