Hi this is a general thread for this years nursing applications for the schools above in Portland,OR and surrounding areas for the FALL 2019/ WINTER 2020 Cohorts.

You should be able to submit all the documents in an afternoon as long as you have gathered all the documents prior.

Do you mean you will be starting in winter term in January? Fall term began last week! For those in winter term, they will send out the email that allows you to do all the immunization and background check stuff at the beginning of November.

Yes, I will be starting in January! (super excited) And I will be out of the country in the beginning of November

Do you know about submitting to get my drug test? is that a quick process with them as well, to get a date to go in?

I was never an alternate I was accepted back in June I believe, And I completely spaced about my trip and the timing of submitting everything.

when I posted about alternate spots I was asking for my friend, she's #42 ?

I dont, its been a handful of years since I had to submit all that documentation, I just know that if you already have copies of all of your immunizations, it doesn't take that long to upload them all.

I would request a list of all of the immunizations/titers from the school so you can start working on that now because you may need to get some shot series if you are not immune. Do you have your immunization records? If not you can request from the Oregon Alert system and they give you a full list which is awesome. It's weird they don't give you access already, I'm starting in Janurary at OHSU and have had access for awhile. Also I would take your CPR class and stuff before you leave and then try and get your drug test done right when you get back? And like someone else said have all of your documents ready to just upload bc it may take a few days to verify. Have you talked to your school about possibly giving you access early if you explain the situation?

i have taken all steps to ensure I’ll have everything to turn in. I guess my main concern is being able to take the drug test in time. I already have all the vaccinations I need as well as my CPR (I work in a hospital so I’ve had them)

I've also asked for early access but was denied even after explaining my situation ?

Sounds like you're pretty well prepared! Do you think they will mind if you take the drug test right when you get back? They should give you a receipt saying you've completed the test and it took about 7 days to get mine back...I feel like as long as everything else is completed and uploaded and you've at least taken the test you should be okay.

Can any accepted MHCC students tell me where they bought their scrubs from? We are supposed to buy royal blue, but I'm sure all royal blue scrubs aren't the same color. Help!
