I created this thread for those applying to Spring 2015 LW Nursing. I am a returning student starting a second career. I have 4 prerequisites left that I am taking this summer. I also am taking the Critical Thinking class for a point. I took the Hesi last week to see how I would do and got an 85. I will have about 27 points for my app so not sure if I will take Hesi again. Good luck everyone.
Not yet - you?
I did. Sent you an email on blackboard. Check 'course mail' in the dashboard.
As far as your other question, only you can determine if you have enough time and what you're willing/able to sacrifice in order to make it work. Personally, I chose to have a work/school/life balance. I did the full time work and school thing when I was getting my masters degree. As a result, I had a bad bout of burnout during school and was a semester behind due to this. At that time, the demands on my time outside of school weren't as high, so I know burning the candle at both ends now for me would just be setting myself up to fail.
@Alison88 If you can get the online course for lecture and pharm you would need to do skills lab and your practical checkoffs. Clinicals are two days off site but you can do those either morning or night. 3 days I guess you would be on campus or clinicals. Hopefully you can get into farm in the fall so you don't have to take during 1st semester in January.
27.8 is a strong number. Since this is the first fall that the HESI can be taken multiple times, no one knows what to expect. 26.85 was minimum last fall and this spring was just over 25. I'm finishing my last few prerequisites this summer so I have to wait until October to apply. Good luck Josh. I wouldn't be nervous. I'm at 27 points now but I am retaking HESI June 2nd to see if I can get the extra 2 points.
Hello everyone! I will actually be applying for the Fall 2015 program at LW but thought I'd say hello since it seems a few of us are in the same boat :) I am currently taking NUR1024 online, and with the exception of a couple course appeals that should *hopefully* go through (transfer credits for chemistry and English), I should be done with prereqs after this. I plan to take the HESI this fall. I'm excited for the critical thinking course, and it seems pretty interesting so far. Our first exam is tomorrow, so I'm a little nervous since I don't really know what to expect. Just studying, reading all the materials, and hoping for the best!
I have a question about the Pro Calc exam though: when I was looking up test center info recently, I saw a note that said "Pro Calc Nursing exam is no longer offered at PBSC. A new exam will be available in the future." Anyone know what this is about or if we take something different now?
Good luck everyone!
Thank you. I don't think many people get a 92 on the hesi the first try because you can't miss many questions. I talked to a couple girls who got in for spring 2013 and one of them had a 26 and the other a 25. something. So I think a 27 or better should do it unless everybody else has a 4.0, a 10 for the hesi and a Bachelors or Masters degree. With my luck that would be the case. Good luck getting high grades in your pre req's and a 10 on the hesi because that would pretty much guarantee you get in.
Anyone hear anything yet about pharm classes opening for fall?
i doubt the pharm class will open until late july-mid august. the application deadline hasn't ended yet for fall admission and they will make sure that the fall class and any other current students in the program have registered for pharm before they'll release the class for anybody else.

General question - what's the least amount of time that I'd have to be on campus for the full-time program? I don't the luxury cutting back at work - I have to stay full time. Any opinions on burning the candle from both ends, that is full time job and full time nursing program?
