PBSC Spring 2015 Nursing

U.S.A. Florida

I created this thread for those applying to Spring 2015 LW Nursing. I am a returning student starting a second career. I have 4 prerequisites left that I am taking this summer. I also am taking the Critical Thinking class for a point. I took the Hesi last week to see how I would do and got an 85. I will have about 27 points for my app so not sure if I will take Hesi again. Good luck everyone.

Hey! I'm applying to this upcoming fall cycle, but I wanted to chime in :) 27 points is just about what I have, too. I don't have much experience with the PBSC nursing program... Is that a pretty competitive score? If u have the time, do the volunteer work for an extra point! I don't know how many hours they require, but it shouldn't be too much

I actually work at a plasma center doing phlebotomy. This past spring 25.01 was the cutoff so I feel good about that. Since I have until October to apply, so I might take the HESI again to get full 10 points. Rushed my last attempt and only got 8.

You need 100 hours of patient contact volunteer work to get a point. That's why I got a job in the medical field to get that point. I am excites to apply and get started.

Good for you! Wow you're definitely in good standings if the cutoff was 25 before

I'm planning on applying October 1st! I'll have 26-28 points roughly. Debating if I should apply to belle glade or lw campus! What's everyone else's points looking like? Anyone know what cut offs were for each campus last year.

LW full time cutoff was 25.15 for spring and last fall was 26.84. Bell glade is usually lower. Too long of a drive for me. They also accept only 24 compared to 90 at LW. I am at 26.8 now but I want to try to get full ten points on Hesi. Got 8 last time and did no studying. Difference this year is people can take Hesi every 60 days so points may be a bit higher.

Yea I haven't taken hesi yet, I've studied hard though. Hoping to get full 10 & that'll give me a 28. If not & I get 8 , I'm stuck with my 26. I don't mind the drive, only about 30 min from me to belle glade but I don't wanna risk getting denied

I know Belle Glade is a bit lower. I wasn't going to take Hesi again but I would feel better applying with 28.8 instead of 26.8 just to be safe. I heard that you have to do your clinicals out there but not sure. I would rather have more people in the class for study groups as well. I'm excited but nervous. Finishing prerequisites this summer and taking Critical Thinking for the extra point. We will see what happens.

Yea I'm aiming for a 28. What pre reqs are you taking this summer?

I've got micro and Lab, psych, and art appreciation. With those and critical thinking it should be a challenge.

I'll be taking micro & lab as well! summer A at PGA campus!
