PBSC Spring 2015 Nursing

I created this thread for those applying to Spring 2015 LW Nursing. I am a returning student starting a second career. I have 4 prerequisites left that I am taking this summer. I also am taking the Critical Thinking class for a point. I took the Hesi last week to see how I would do and got an 85. I will have about 27 points for my app so not sure if I will take Hesi again. Good luck everyone.

Hi everyone, I'm applying this Fall to start during the Spring of 2015 for the part-time program at the Lake Worth campus. I'm taking my last pre-req, A&P II, this summer semester. Here's my dilemma: I'm trying to get that 1 extra point for Critical Nursing. In order to do that, I'll need to take it this summer (correct?). I can't find an open class! I've been checking multiple times a day and was even on at midnight this past Friday when fee payment was due. Any suggestions?

Hi, yes, you would have to take critical thinking this summer in order for it to count as that 1 point. I would just keep looking for a spot. Something may open after classes start, there is that 3 day add/drop window. It's a hard class to get into, I was constantly checking also.

I know I posted an opening I saw the other day and someone nabbed it. I hit one first day of registration but they are few and far between. I saw pharm pop up for summer but I already gave five classes this summer. Should I go for 6 or wait until fall. Gpa is 4.0 and don't want to push it with a 6th class.

What's the code for the pharm? I want to get one for fall!

NUR1141 or NUR2140. Not sure when they will be phasing NUR2140 out.

The only ones that are available are NUR1141 and fall isn't available yet.

Think NUR2140 might be phased out since 1141 just showed up today. BSN at Pbsc takes both for BSN now.

@jessicaengle this class just a opened today so a few days before class starts. I'm assuming it will be opened up before fall session opens but no idea when exactly.

@cgambino70 did you decide on whether or not to take pharm this summer? Those open classes are so tempting, but I don't wanna risk my GPA either.

Now I'm wondering if I should put the rest of my gen-ed classes off and just take pharm this summer. ?

If I don't finish prerequisites this summer I can't apply in Oct. I am going to wait until fall. I just got class schedule for Critical Thinking and I need another good semester. If you have a 4.0 2 semester's in a row with 24 credits you get $500 a semester so I am going to wait.
