PBSC Spring 2015 Nursing

Published

I created this thread for those applying to Spring 2015 LW Nursing. I am a returning student starting a second career. I have 4 prerequisites left that I am taking this summer. I also am taking the Critical Thinking class for a point. I took the Hesi last week to see how I would do and got an 85. I will have about 27 points for my app so not sure if I will take Hesi again. Good luck everyone.

I've been trying to find a list of the bsn pre reqs for pbsc. I started some at Bc but not sure if theirs are the same. Was thinking on getting those done in fall so I'm not sitting around waiting lol anyone know a link to find them?

That's not bad! No foreign language credit? I'm surprised

I didn't see one, but I think you have to take a language if your high school language didn't satisfy the requirement.

Gotcha. Yea I took Spanish in high school, but I'm surprised they don't require a college level credit of it.

I've been at broward college & we used pigs instead of cats so that would've been a bit strange lol

I wish we did use pigs! Waiting for my a&p 1 final we were in a spare lab room with the cats from ap2. Had to go home that night and kiss and squeeze my kitties. ? I've seen some people in here have had human cadavers for lab, THAT would be interesting.

For a bachelors degree you must have done 2 years of the same foreign language in high school. Otherwise, you'll have to take 2 semesters college level of the same language. If you've sent your transcripts to pbsc and have a student id, you can go into panther web and do an interactive degree audit. It will tell you which classes you have left to satisfy the bsn requirements. Only caveat is, it may not be completely accurate depending on if they've done a full transcript evaluation.

@jessica. Depends who you have for micro. I have Liang for lecture and everyone I know said it's easy. Everyone said how hard AP2 was and I thought it was way easier than AP1. If you do the work you'll be fine. All these classes are hard subjects but it will only get tougher. Fall semester last year I signed up late and took what I could get. All my professors got horrible ratings. I had AP1, Chem, Human growth, and AP Lab. None of my professors gad a rating above 2.0 and I had a 4.0. I take rate my professors with a grain of salt.

I had liang for micro class online...super easy. Lab was a little tougher, but still pulled an A from the class. If you understand the 'rules' and concepts, it's not that hard. You can find all the lab slides and study guides in the pbsc website. Go to biology department, everything is there.

Thanks jcol. I already saved them to my favorites. So want to get this program started. I might go to info session after Fall applicants get accepted to see what points are. I think 26.8 should be good but want to take Hesi again just in case to get 2 more points.

@jcol Awesome! I was worried but it's good hearing not to be! Yea I couldn't imagine looking at my kitty after doing such a thing lol , pigs were tough too tho. They smelled terrible & were "fetal pigs" so they were tiny! & hairy !

There is a Critical Thinking spot open for summer session. Same class I have. It was on there Monday May 5th at 10pm. Hope some snags it.

Got it!!! Thanks!!
