I created this thread for those applying to Spring 2015 LW Nursing. I am a returning student starting a second career. I have 4 prerequisites left that I am taking this summer. I also am taking the Critical Thinking class for a point. I took the Hesi last week to see how I would do and got an 85. I will have about 27 points for my app so not sure if I will take Hesi again. Good luck everyone.
I am seriously panicking that mine haven't shown up. I called and they said depending on when you applied it takes longer. I applied the Thursday right before applications were due so I really hope that's why it is taking forever... I just hope my application is okay and I didn't mess something up!
Have anyone's points showed up under the limited access status page yet? Or has anyone called about how selections are coming? I'm worried that they didn't get my application or something! Otherwise maybe they're just going really slowly...
I submitted my application on May 9th and my points popped up on Panterweb last week.
The points should all be up by the end of this week. I'm just going crazy waiting for the letters to go out to see if I made it. how are everybody's points looking so far.i
I can definitely relate. I have been pretty calm, but the nervousness kicked in this week.
I have 27 points. I was going for the healthcare experience by volunteering, but I couldn't make the schedule work with a full-time job and a full-time school schedule.
I missed the full 10 on the HESI by 1 point on my second attempt. I took it for the third time, but I was so consumed by getting that 1 point, I did worse than my first attempt!
I decided to apply with my 27 points in the Fall and see what happens. If I don't make it, I will try to make the volunteering work and retake the HESI to grab those 3 points.
I have an A in Critical and my other 4 classes. The critical thinking class is awesome and not just for the point. I thought it was a bs class but really like it. The medical terminology will come in handy. My class meets once a week and we don't really review for the tests. Each test is based on 2 chapters from each nook. I got a 90, 94, and 100 on first three tests. We get a blueprint of where the questions come from but that's it. How is your class going?
Mid term grade in critical thinking is an 81, which is a 'c' so, no bueno. But I think I'll end up with a 'b' as the final grade. She doesn't indicate really where she will pull questions from and won't review the tests with you after, so it's hard to know where the wrong answers were. I find it an interesting class as well, online is definitely harder as there is less teaching and more figure it out for yourself.
As far as my other classes, made an A in a&p 2 and started lab on Wednesday. Expecting an A in that class as well.
Very good. I guess they cannot review the tests in Nursing. My teacher said they weren't allowed to. I spend most of my time on terminology since the Test Success book seems like common sense. I really like some of the strategies I learned. I am going to take the HESI again next week and shoot for the extra two points. I am pretty confident with 27 points, but would feel better with 29. Good luck with lab. It seems like a lot but the practical were easy. I got a 98 on the midterm and 100 on final with minimal studying.
