PBSC Spring 2015 Nursing

Published

I created this thread for those applying to Spring 2015 LW Nursing. I am a returning student starting a second career. I have 4 prerequisites left that I am taking this summer. I also am taking the Critical Thinking class for a point. I took the Hesi last week to see how I would do and got an 85. I will have about 27 points for my app so not sure if I will take Hesi again. Good luck everyone.

Took the Hesi for a second time and got an 89. I need to study for the next time. Is it me or are the sciences ridiculously harder. My highest was Chem with an 88. I got 76 in AP and my lowest test in both 1&2 was an 87 with the rest all As. Anyone have any advice?. I got 100 on math portion and high 90's in others. Need about 4 more points.

I was in the same boat. I took the HESI 3 times. I got one point higher every time I took it. I ended up with an 89. My lowest grade was actually in Math (82). I did well in AP, but I also took the HESI right after I finished AP2...info was still fresh. I found the HESI review books helped me a lot. Are you using any specific review books or doing practice tests?

I have been using the Hesi book from evolve.

I got 4 points higher the second time. I am hoping 2 months of reviewing and one more time will get me the extra 3 points I need.

Quizlet.com helps too. Great practice tests

I have 61 days to study up. Thanks.

Specializes in ICU, neuro ICU.

I got a 91 on my first attempt using the elsevier review. It was awesome for everything except anatomy (hence why I ended up with a 91 and not higher l, because I NAILED the other sections.) I highly recommend that book. The bio was very helpful to me since I haven't taken bio in a while. So I would memorize that book then hope and pray on anatomy. It seemed REALLY random when I took the Hesi... (I would specifically learn hormones though, they seemed to like that topic on my exam.)

I used that one and the one from elsevier. I liked the second one better because it had a good review of the content which was helpful since I hadn't done any of the science work since high school (which has been longer than I care to admit ?). I got an 88.57 with very rusty sciences. Going to take it one more time in late august just to see if I can bump it up the 4 points I need.

I will be applying for Spring 2015 as well. Good luck to all who are applying!

I'm glad to find this forum! I'm taking the Hesi for the first time on July 22. I'm currently studying with the hesi A2 secrets study guide By. Mometrix that I got from the library. I'm wondering if I should invest in the Elsevier version. I'm hoping I score high enough the first go around.

Good luck. I have taken it twice and the highest I got was 89. Focus on the sciences. That was my weakest and I have straight As in all classes I have taken. I am studying for the next couple of months to try and get the extra 3 points I need for the full 10.

Pharmacology classes are posted for the fall. Spots available.

I just checked. All gone already?
