I created this thread for those applying to Spring 2015 LW Nursing. I am a returning student starting a second career. I have 4 prerequisites left that I am taking this summer. I also am taking the Critical Thinking class for a point. I took the Hesi last week to see how I would do and got an 85. I will have about 27 points for my app so not sure if I will take Hesi again. Good luck everyone.
I got a 91 on my first attempt using the elsevier review. It was awesome for everything except anatomy (hence why I ended up with a 91 and not higher l, because I NAILED the other sections.) I highly recommend that book. The bio was very helpful to me since I haven't taken bio in a while. So I would memorize that book then hope and pray on anatomy. It seemed REALLY random when I took the Hesi... (I would specifically learn hormones though, they seemed to like that topic on my exam.)
I have been using the Hesi book from evolve.
I used that one and the one from elsevier. I liked the second one better because it had a good review of the content which was helpful since I hadn't done any of the science work since high school (which has been longer than I care to admit ?). I got an 88.57 with very rusty sciences. Going to take it one more time in late august just to see if I can bump it up the 4 points I need.
I'm glad to find this forum! I'm taking the Hesi for the first time on July 22. I'm currently studying with the hesi A2 secrets study guide By. Mometrix that I got from the library. I'm wondering if I should invest in the Elsevier version. I'm hoping I score high enough the first go around.

I was in the same boat. I took the HESI 3 times. I got one point higher every time I took it. I ended up with an 89. My lowest grade was actually in Math (82). I did well in AP, but I also took the HESI right after I finished AP2...info was still fresh. I found the HESI review books helped me a lot. Are you using any specific review books or doing practice tests?
