PBSC Spring 2015 Nursing

U.S.A. Florida

I created this thread for those applying to Spring 2015 LW Nursing. I am a returning student starting a second career. I have 4 prerequisites left that I am taking this summer. I also am taking the Critical Thinking class for a point. I took the Hesi last week to see how I would do and got an 85. I will have about 27 points for my app so not sure if I will take Hesi again. Good luck everyone.

Hmmm....I'm not sure about that. At the info session they said the math section was the only section you could take alone. And if you take it more than once they can use your highest math score as long as it's within the last 2 years. So I think if you have to retake it, it may be all sections needed for PBSC not all but that math. Sorry if this wasn't much help. And good luck!

Anyone know this answer? I'm going to be re taking the hesi for extra 2 points anyone know if I have to retake the math section? I scored well already the first time on it. Are you able to skip that part the second time?

Unfortunately, you can't choose the section you want to retake. You have to retake the whole test.

No. You have to take the entire thing again. I asked them already. They don't take parts of your best portions. They take the best overall score.

Took the HESI today - 95.43%! Woo hoo! So glad to be done for a while and not have to worry about taking it again.

Also, I plan on selling my HESI A2 Exam Review guide, if anyone is interested. I bought it brand new for $35 on Amazon; I will sell it for $15. There's a little bit of highlighting in it, as well as some writing (mostly correcting the errors in the book), but other than that, it's in great shape! Just PM me :) Good luck everyone!

Great job!

Congrats sjc1984!! That's a great score!!

Awesome score. I'm taking mine next week again. Got an 89. Need the extra 3 points this time.

So the application is out and the points have changed. Does anyone know the minimum required for each program now??

I'm curious too! The point system changed entirely! I'm a bit nervous now

I freaked out when I saw the new points ?

If anyone finds out the average predicted points to get in Bg & lw please please post it!

Hmm, that's odd. I knew they were getting rid of the healthcare point, but I had no idea there were going to be this many changes. The changes to the HESI scoring has its pros and cons, depending on what your score is - some lose a point, some gain a point. It looks like the residency points are gone, too - those didn't seem to be really necessary for most, anyway.

I will also be curious to see what the average points for admission will be. For Fall 2014 at LW, the average score for getting in was 26.54, with the total points possible being 31. Perhaps a shift down of a point would make sense to reflect that, then? Under the old system, I had a 29.9, and now I have a 28.9, but since the total points change, the point differential didn't. Of course, it depends on HESI scores - someone who would have had 10 points under the last point system may only get 9 in the new system, but then again, someone who formerly had an 8 may have a 9 now. I wonder what prompted the changes.
