Applied to PBSC RN Program for Spring 2011. Playing the waiting game. I decided to apply to the Belle Glade Campus.....
This is getting beyond ridiculous... I don't know whether I'm in or not and I'm getting pushed hard to make a decision. I have to pick between waiting for a decision from them (and the chances of getting in maybe being not so great with soo many applicants this semester) and making the decision to go full time to finish my bachelors next semester... I have to make my decision now so I can arrange for child care for my son next semester >.

Yeah, Lake Worth full time, 28.15 points. I have a feeling I'm not going to make it anyways if there were that many applicants... Once I have my bachelors I'll have another point, so maybe that is just the best route for me anyways (it was my backup plan all along). What do you all think? I'm grasping at straws here trying to figure out wht to do >.

I have to give you some pretty basic advice and I advise you to follow your heart.
Heres the thing, I have a bachelors, and feel it just wasn't what I expected.
When I graduated in 2003 I felt like it was such an accomplishment but have spent the last few years in jobs, not utilizing it and sad I didn't go the nursing route first.
I even did internships in college and really felt like I knew what I wanted to do, but these days everyone goes to college so if you're not getting something specifically useful to you and your career it's not always an advantage!
I do not regret getting my bachelors, but I don't feel it has given me a leg up over an ASN.
So without knowing what your bachelors will be in, or whether you have a plan on how you will maximize it, I cannot really give you specific advice.
RHaufler,
I agree with FoodieJ. Follow your heart. On that note, if you do not hear either way from PBSC about the nursing app before you need to sign up for classes (I think you said Wednesday)...Then I think you should sign up for the classes at FAU for your Bachelor's but not pay (It is FAU isn't it?). They will give you a deadline to pay by but it won't be until sometime in early December. That way at least you will have secured your spot in those classes in case this does not turn out favorably for you, but if you do get accepted you can drop your classes at FAU without losing anything. But it won't matter because you WILL get in...I can feel it .
Anyway, that is what I would do if I were you. That is just my two cents. Hope that helps.
SO...did anyone else apply to the part-time night/weekend Lake Worth program? I feel all alone on here? Everyone seems to have applied to Lake Worth or Belle Glades Full Time?
As far as I know I am the only other person on this site who has applied to the pt program and I have less points that you do.
My problem is that I have to make decisions with the rest of my family about child care. Being a student I can't afford a daycare so I make arrangements with my fiance and my sister to all make our schedules work so someone is around to watch him, and my fiance has a deadline to lock in his work schedule for next year. I am only one semester away from a Biology bachelors degree which will allow me to get in to graduate school to become a Nurse Midwife (a masters or doctorate degree) without having to get a BSN once I have my RN license, so I need to do it, I was just planning on finishing the last 14 credits while I was in nursing school or over the summers since the full time program is only fall and spring. I really want to get into nursing school asap, but I don't know if I should bank on getting in when it might fall through. I know in the end if I don't hear back in time I'm just going to have to make an intuitive decision, I am just really frustrated with the system at this point for putting me in this situation! >.

Ok, 2 weeks is a hard, long wait for something you are really anxious about...but we are on WEEK 4 and that starts falling into the cruel and unjust punishment.
