Applied to PBSC RN Program for Spring 2011. Playing the waiting game. I decided to apply to the Belle Glade Campus.....
well they told me that i should wait until the end of the month, i should have listened, relaxed, and waited. next week monday is november 1, so it should be sometime this week. whatever happens, happen. i will just proceed with life
i would hope that it would be this week since we have to sign up for classes next week. this is actually quite ridiculous.
I should've known better than to think the school was actually going to be more prepared to deal with the high amount of applications and provide a response in a reasonable amount of time. It's obviously been an issue for a while after reading the posts from a year ago or more regarding the same issues of waiting and the school being so lax. I am also waiting to hear b/c depending on if I get in or not, I am looking to apply for another job opportunity, which also effects my husband's work schedule and childcare as well. It is really frustrating and ridiculous.
artistdiaz, that's right. i am actually trying to sort out at the classes posted for next semester. these are the classes that have to be completed in semester one (posted on their website).

for belle glade, there is not a lot of choices, and they haven't assigned professors to some of the classes. several of the classes have (tba) beside them, so i don't know who our professors will be.

you will have to take 3 or 4 classes depending on whether or not you have taken the pharmacology. you will have one lecture on campus or online (dl). you will have one lab. and you will have one clinical. the fouth class is the pharmacology which is avilable online or in class, but i highly recommend that you take it in the classroom. i am currently taking it to get it out of the way before starting (hopefully) in january and it is a very tough course. very time consuming with studying. my suggestion is to take it on campus. just seems like it would be more difficult learning on your own.
yes, if they are overwhelmed by an influx of applications for the asn program, i can't imagine how they will handle the applications for the bsn program. i do not have a plan b, which makes it all the more maddening. i can assure you that i will have a plan b to do the bachelors, because i will not endure another torture like this.
we all have high enough points to get in, but somehow we are all still so dubious. i guess it's because it is competitive. i believe they should add more seats to the program as opposed to adding additional points to the already numerous points that we have to get in order to qualify for a seat, but what this area needs is a (reputable) school that can compete with pbcc. i hope we all make it and everything works in our favor.
just stay positive.
foodiej, i see your point, since there are only 24 people, i understand why they would have one class, it makes sense.
artistdiaz, i have to take pharm, so it will be a fourth class for me. i've had bad experiences with online classes so the classroom my best option. i don't want it to be too challenging, that's why i am presently going through the pharm book. i am on chapter 13. are there any specific chapters to focus on?

We are the only two on this site for the pt program, who knows how many actually applied to the pt program that aren't communicating here. According to your info regarding the overwhelming response, I don't know if I should get my hopes up, but you can keep sending your positive energy. Actually, you have a few more reasons (points) to believe you are in. Good Luck!!
