PBSC Spring 2011 hopeful......

Published

Applied to PBSC RN Program for Spring 2011. Playing the waiting game. I decided to apply to the Belle Glade Campus.....

OK...NOW it's the 20th....has anyone even gotten a denial letter??

Nope..is it supposed to come by email? I have only 20 points, so when they do send them i will more than likely be one of the first to know.

ahhhhh 9:40am morning of the 20th...

still have not heard squat!

I believe they are supposed to send it out to the PBSC email. You can also check the limited appliction status on pantherweb, but I'm not sure if that will say denied...? I wish they would tell us!!! It's less than 2 weeks before the people who are accepted have to sign up for classes, so they have to tell us soon!

I guess they are not sending out letters when they anticipated. I was going to email the woman who sent the original emails, but last time I checked in with her she was a bit sarcastic. Let's hope that if none of us have heard anything yet, we are in!

Ok kids...here is the latest low down I have scooped. According to a friend of mine that works at the college, they have not sent anything out yet, good OR bad. That being said, it seems that they have had an overwhelming amount of applications this time around and are actually considering the possibility of accepting more students than the usual amount. This is a BIG MAYBE and not likely going to happen, BUT Because of this are holding off sending anything to us regarding admission until they know either way.

That's interesting! I tried to call a few times today and they just kept sending me to a number that rang endlessly. I don't know how I feel about this hold process with the doubt that they'd accept more applicants. How many more could they possibly accomodate at the last minute and when is the latest we'd be able to learn of our status? The wait was a little fun, but not any more

Hmm. I think it is kind of short notice for them to accept more students, but I imagine it is less a matter of the school's decision as it is the decision of the places where clinicals are held. It is easy to accommodate more students in the classroom or in online classes, but to get more clinical sites at such short notice could be difficult. In any case, they have to tell us within the next two weeks. Registration for limited access program students (aka, those who are accepted) begins November 3rd, and they can't tell us we can't register because they haven't made decisions yet. Obviously they have had sufficient time to determine what order the applicants are in, so at this point they must just be scrambling to figure out how many they will accept. As soon as they do I am sure we will all get our letters ASAP because they must already know who the top 90, or 100, or 120 or however many there are going to be, are. I know it's really tough guys, but they can't make us wait too much longer, so we just have to hang in there! If they are thinking about admitting more people, that just means better chances for everyone :D

Like I said, it is likely NOT going to happen, but the idea that it is a possibility is what is holding them up. Anyway, from what my friend at the college says...it shouldn't be much longer now and he anticipates that we should start hearing by the end of the week either way. Let's hope that's true because the wait is killing me!!!

Larger numbers of applicants probably correlates to higher points needed to be accepted.

Oh goodness me…

I was so hoping I would know by now.

If we are accepted, does anyone know when orientation is?

I’m giving myself the worst agida

I don’t know what I check more, my patherweb or my subscribed threads on all nurses

What will I do with my time once I know my status?...

Good luck to everyone here. I know how bad the wait is. My stomach is still in a knot, and i'm in first semester. You guys will probably hear something today. These places like to make decisions late on Friday. That way, they don't have to deal with 300 phone calls from rejected applicants. PantherWeb is where you will see action first. Your status will change from change from "Complete" to "Accepted Nursing Day" or "Deny Nursing Day" (substitute day for weekend/evening if that is the case as well as campus location). If you get in, expect a letter (packet) via PBSC email next week. If you are denied.......well, who cares then. Be patient and keep checking, because it will change quickly. I wouldn't look for them to increase the numbers by much. if any. They are already streched pretty thin in some cases.

Now I am super anxious lol. I will be checking pantherweb every 5 minutes! At least the wait is almost over (hopefully). Do you have any recommendations on what teachers to take or avoid cop2nurse? I know you can't post their names here, but if you do have any recommendations maybe you could message me with them. Thanks!!!
