Hi everyone,
I'm in the process of study for the nurse Procalc and the NLN entrance exam for PBCC fall nursing program.
I read on line that this school works on a point system
I was wondering if anyone who has been accepted to the program
(past/Present) student: HOW MANY POINTS DID YOU HAVE TO
WHEN ACCEPTED TO THE PROGRAM.
Anyone with info about the program, would be helpful.
Thanks
I got the same model Littmann Classic II S.E. and paid a bit more so you did great! I think you can have whatever color you want. When I priced the scopes at copy's they had a wide variety of colors and they are the recommended vendor so I would think any color is fine. Of course the more wild the color, the more you will recognize your own stethoscope, could be a good thing.
I havent gotten my stethescope either, but I was looking at the ultrascopes because they are supposed to be really good and you cant really get it confused! lol. My friend in the program said that he paid 30 for his stethescope but if he wouldve known he wouldve def. gotten an 80 or 90 dollar one because it makes a big difference in how good they work. I need to get shoes too, let me know how the nursemates feel... I might just do that. And does anybody know if I already had the DTAP and Hep B shots done when I was little, if I would need them again?? Or is it just a one time thing?? Almost ready to turn in my packet after I pick up my bloodwork papers tomorrow!! :monkeydance:

if your doc didn't say anything when you went in for your physical, then you should be fine on immunizations.
for lexi:
that bit about the packet is confusing. whoever wrote it sure wasn't thinking right. since the background and drug are coming from NMS, then I'm just leaving it that way and mailing PBCC the non-NMS items on the list. plus the other page or two that wasn't even listed on the checkoff but that I assume should have been included.
got my nursemates today (Dove). they're pretty comfortable. I wore them around for several hours. They have a bit of a heel and firm heel support (and maybe low arches?), but I think after wearing them a bit more I will be used to them.
in terms of looks, my FH laughed as soon as he saw them. nuff said.
I would def. recommend taking the online class ONLY if you are disciplined!! I have taken this class before and every lecture is the same, they read straight from the powerpoints that are online. Its ALOT of studying so make sure you have plenty of time for it... I am almost done with this class and CANNOT wait!! lol :icon_roll
Hey to everyone applying, incoming Spring 2010, and the 1st and 2nd semesters. Came back to visit as 3rd semester comes to a close. Hope everyone is fairing well with all their preparations. Too bad life can't be put on hold during nursing school, but I guess how it is no matter what you're doing.
Welcome Night should be very informative, but if you have any questions, make sure you write them down and bring them to the event. You will be breaking up into groups and meeting students on the Executive Boards from the upper semesters while getting a tour of places you will be frequenting during your two year hiatus lol. Fulltime, evening/weekend, Belle Glade, and online representatives will all be there. And no question will be off-topic!

I bought a raspberry colored Littman (classic II??) for about 60 online. There is no mention of color in the info packet we got.
It should arrive later this week along with my shoes. Hope they both work out.
