PBCC-palm beach comm. college

Published

Hi everyone,

I'm in the process of study for the nurse Procalc and the NLN entrance exam for PBCC fall nursing program.

I read on line that this school works on a point system

I was wondering if anyone who has been accepted to the program

(past/Present) student: HOW MANY POINTS DID YOU HAVE TO

WHEN ACCEPTED TO THE PROGRAM.

Anyone with info about the program, would be helpful.

Thanks

my day is going good, thanks.... will you be applying to PBCC next go around?

yes i will be, if i can figure out the NLN process. other than that i have all my pereqs completed. is pharm a required class to apply? because i would have to take it , if so

pharm is required 1st semester of NS, or you can take it before... youll figure it out... just call the school they should be able to help.. I would suggest you buy the book and start looking through it.. you will be giving yourself more than enough time for studying.. I wish I wouldve taken my advise, I would have done better and that probably made a difference of me getting into the program.. oh well!!

lsmith1983,

If you go to the workforce program try to go to copy's first and get a written estimate for the uniform and things so you can take it with you, I think that might seed up the process of getting your stuff. I went to copy's today and they did this for me and I got fitted for what I need and shoes included. It came to $336.00..... I do not know how I am going to get the books yet pay for tuition, it has to be paid by 12/2...

Hi mystical0217,

How are things going. I registered today for classes and went to copy's to get a list of things I need to take with to work force. The book store at PBCC said they do not have prices or books yet for the Jan class.

hey thunter, so after you got the copys from school did you go back to workforce and turn them in? did you call the health place?

Hi 2bnurse-1,

I went to copy's today and picked up the estimate paper with items listed that I tried on and picked. I am going to go to workforce on friday and bring it to the lady and had to wait to go to work force until I registered for classes because they want a copy of the schedule. I am hoping this will speed up the process of getting the uniforms. I was out all day so I am going to call all day tomorrow if I have to until I get a person.

I can't believe how much everything is. I think the estimate on the orientation packet for all 4 semesters is incorrect. It said about $6,000 for everything, I think first semester with classes, books, uniforms, shots and physical is going to be over $2000.00. Crazy hugh!

$6000 is a lot but not as bad as my school which is $50,000. but do what you have to do to get started. alot of running around i know.

so how did you feel getting fitting for your uniforms?

Yeah your right if I can just get this semester paid then next semester workforce should pick up. It was nice trying on the uniform and shoes. Although I wear scrubs all the time. I got to pick out the shoes, jacket, and stethoscope. I am going to keep calling that place tomorrow until I get someone on the phone. I had a meeting at my sons school today and did some other running around. I dont understand why they have the scholarship orientation at school dec 4 after the deadline for tuition. That makes no sense.

my friend got in the program last semester and she would call me saying shes doing a lot of running up n down the stairs, going to the gym because she wants to look sexy in your uniform when she starts school.

Oh well I better lose 20lbs. I think I gained 20lbs from this semester just from stress. I need to start walking I guess. I don't know how sexy these scrubs can look. LOL I been married for 21yrs so I guess I am not trying to look to sexy or my husband might not like that. He's a paramedic so he might be showing up where I work. LOL

thunter, i think after you turn in those papers you should definately get this semester paid for cuz it only takes a week to process. just keep the faith and be extra SWEET to the staff when your go there on Friday. you have a month from now to get for tuition due date.
