I have made my mind up and I'm going to move to Ohio, but I need to have some idea of the pay rates for new RNs (BSN)

well at least around dayton, there is not a pay difference between adn or bsn. Sorry don't really know what the new grad pay is I am thinking 22.50 but not sure.

The last new grad rate in Dayton I was quoted was $21.86/hr.

From some of the previous threads on this same topic, I believe in Ohio the range is 20-24. I've read that Cincinnati's range is about 20-22 and it seems as though Cleveland and northern Ohio offer the highest range which is about 22-24. I heard from a new grad at the Cleveland Clinic that she started last yr around 23/hr. However, a new grad in Akron/Canton stated she was offered 25/hr.

Even with the subtle difference in ranges, you have to take cost of living into consideration...from city to city (in Ohio) it probably adds up to the same amt per hr.

Good luck

I live in Dayton and have 1 more semester to go before I graduate. Many of my new nurse friends make between $18-22 an hour. But $20 seems to be the most common amount paid to new nurses. Not counting working nights, weekends, holidays, etc.

The going rate around Columbus is $21.86 if you're right out of school.

i'm a new grad of six months i am making 19

It amazes me how low the starting rate for a new grad RN is. As a LPN I was making $25 and higher. I also had some mileage on me though. ;) I understand working your way up but to pay thousands of $$$ for a college degree and earn less than you did with a technical degree.

21.75 a year ago for me, but I moved to a different hospital system. Don't forget shift diff, weekend diff and yearly raises. I got a two dollar raise between yearly and a raise of all the nurses. Like someone said it depends where you work, because real estate is so different around the state. In Dayton area I wouldn't be paying what I do for my morgage in Central Ohio.

For Columbus area, one of the major hospital systems starts at 22.75//hr with shift diff of 4.75/hr.

I believe the other major hospital system is 21.86 to start.

I do not know the pay for OSU medical center.

FORGOT THIS PART: There is no pay diff for BSN at my hospital. I don't know for sure but if there is a diff for BSN anywhere in town I believe it is minimal (i.e. less than a dollar)

I was making 23+ an hour as a RN ADN at a hospital in Dayton. I worked there for about 6 months then when CSP (prn) and made $30.00 an hour plus shift differential and pickup bonus and call in bonus.

yeah the range from what i have seen is 22-24 also( in the cleveland area)
