Pay rate in Oahu

U.S.A. Hawaii

Published

Hello,

I was wondering what the pay rate for an experienced nurse is? (1 year experience)

-Queens

-Straub

-Kapiolani

-Kaiser

I don't want to apply with a "desired rate" too high or too low. I looked back on old threads, but I know info is outdated.

any info about shift differentials/PTO/sick days or holidays info/insurance/education reimbursement info would be greatly appreciated!

I'm 7 years out of school and am getting $52/hour. When possible I don't answer those pay rate questions.

It doesn't matter what you put. You'll get paid exactly the same as every other nurse with the same amount of experience. Most hospitals don't pay you job rate until you hit 2 years though.

You will not get a job at any hospitals here with 1 year experience, Especially if you are coming from the mainlaind. Locals RNs here work as CNAs and LPNs for 3 years or more before being considered for an RN position at the hospitals and clinics. And if you find yourself getting lucky and getting offered a job at an independent clinic or similar, expect the pay to be less than you would get as an LPN on the mainland. That is the hard truth for RNs here. But, there are planty of Per Diem jobs with no benefits and no guaranteed hours. And home care here is like working in a third world country.
