  1. Hello, I was wondering what the pay rate for an experienced nurse is? (1 year experience) -Queens -Straub -Kapiolani -Kaiser I don't want to apply with a "desired rate" too high or too low. I looked back on old threads, but I know info is outdated. any info about shift differentials/PTO/sick days or holidays info/insurance/education reimbursement info would be greatly appreciated!
  2. I interviewed back on June 14 (i was their first interview) and I recieved a reference check email the morning of June 17 (the day after they finished conducting all interviews). Make sure to start asking 5 people if they are okay with doing a survey/writing comments so you can submit everything in time. Once the 5 people submit the emails, HR will compile the file and evalute the references. Then, it gets sent to the manager. The manager makes a decision pretty soon (mine took 2 days).
  3. I had my peds acute care interview on the July 27 and I recieved a call for a second interview the next day (July 28). My second interview was on July 29. They interviewed 16 of us for 8 positions. We were supposed to hear back end of last week to sometime this week (depends how fast HR processes things since they are the ones who call). My second interview was quite brutal. I was by myself and I walked into a room of 12 people who each asked me questions. The people were all from different units (acute and ICU's), management, educators, HR people.
  4. I called UC Davis today and they said that the last day for departments to call for the JUNE cohort is NEXT FRIDAY. So if you don't recieve a call by next friday, anticipate to possibly recieve a call anywhere from end of July-2nd week of October for the Fall cohort. If you graduated recently, more than likely, you'll be placed in the October cohort. However, some units may choose to interview recently graduated applicants in June (just the unit preference).
  5. Here is the Facebook group for PSNE Summer 2015! Join if it applies :) MD Anderson PSNE Summer 2015
  6. I've called over 8 leasing agents looking at pretty much all the housing options within TMC, I narrowed it down to 1 but it is still pricey at 1,700k per month. 3 month leases is short term so they charge like crazy for that. The cheaper options had crime, termites, horrible reviews, or were too far away. I would love to do a roommate thing! Should I start a fb group/page so we can discuss in detail? Sorry for the bad grammar, I'm typing on my phone!
  7. I got my acceptance phone call this morning followed up by an email!! Did you hear back???
  8. I had mine 2 weeks ago too. I asked them when we'd hear back and they said mid APRIL. These two months will be so slow.
  9. I was going to attach a cover letter but the instructions explicitly said "please do not attach a cover letter despite the prompt" or something along those lines. A previous Summer III told me not to attach more than what was necessary since they are very strict.
  10. Perfect! Thanks for the update :) I'm curious how many people they are accepting this year. I know last year they only took 50.
  11. I just applied! I know it's quite competitive so it's pretty nerve-wracking. Summer III just sounds like an amazing opportunity. Now it's just the waiting game...
  12. hey lilyblooming, the mayo summer III application for 2015 came out and I was curious if I could e-mail you privately with some questions? Sorry I'm a new member so I can't message anyone until I post 15 times Thanks!!!
