Maybe by "criticize" they meant to critically study it. Perhaps you have to look at the process of a thoracotomy and figure out what type of pain a patient would have. Any surgery is trauma, so you have to think about WBC infiltration and swelling. What types of tissue does needs to be cut through during a thoracotomy?

I feel like this question answers itself, does it not?

i didnt ask you to do my homework. I have read articles, and searched on the web, but unfortunately the information provided is too much and too complex that i cant understand.

Therefore, i was hoping someone could give me a little summary

sorry, ive recently joined here so I am not too sure how this site works.

I was just stuck on whether the pathophysiology of pain is similar to the one of acute pain, and to the one of post surgical pain? or whether it is completely different.

I understand that nociceptive pain occurs when there is a inflamation, so will it be appropriate to say that nociceptive pain is basically post surgical pain?
