Passed NCLEX with 69 questions

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

I took the NCLEX RN the first time on February 14th. I honestly didn't feel prepared and I got the whole entire test and failed. The first time I studied using the NCSBN review which was a big mistake. Since I failed I wanted to try a different review program. I purchased Uworld with 1 self assessment. I did about 100-150 questions each day. These questions were really hard but I studied all the rationals. Two days before I took my exam I did the self assessment. I felt like I was getting on the questions wrong but I ended up getting a 73% which meant I had a very high chance of passing NCLEX. Took the exam and computer shut off at 69. I felt much more relaxed and prepared after using World. I tried the Pearson due trick and it really doesn't work

So uworld wasn’t sufficent enough? Did u know everything from uworld? Did it help if not why

Isn’t priorty like airway breathing circulation then vitals

naww man ...you cant just look at uworld only... you need to have a content book like Saunders. you need to like redo OB in Saunders do the questions from saudner in ob then go to uworld.

I dont know how other people are doing it with uworld only but this is an important test and you dont want to pay 200 and 300 dollars again.. my downfall was I didn't hit the rationales harder and wasnt thinking critically...plus I mistake trying to use my lvn knowledge..and ..I did a bunch wrong things .... you do not want to be paying for this test again and waiting 45 days... it is aggrivating ... and because of me messing up the first time and my classmate were taken it pretty quick and passing.. looking at all my classmates name on the state board website..

**************************

NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE priority isn't airway breathing

NOT AT ALL

priority is you are a RN and the LVN is messing up when do you stop him

what can a UAP do

you have 4 people that need to be seen which one first

a new nurse is floating to the cancer dept who do you give them

a major wreck happend.. which patient do you see first

a major explosion happend on the way to work ... how do you triage the people.

the patient was perscriberd drug X and he is allergic to X read this chart and tell me what drug you would hold and would you go tell the doctor.

You are busy and you have a lvn what patient do you have the lvn help you with.

a person is new dx with disease X what is the most important thing to tell them

put in order how to do perineal dialysis

if you have ANY hesistation about any of these questions I just asked...you really need to get that lacharity book and get it today... and I'm serious as a heart attack

Was uworld harder or it didn’t cover content?

It's not always ABC's.. I am using LaCharity now, Saunders and Mark Klimek audio review. Hopefully I do well this time. Good luck!

even rereading my wrong answer is a big help.. the question is asking about endocrine why did I pick a fluid and electrolyte or kidney answer...

so when I look at a questions, I'm now like OK this question is about endocrine.... so is this question an endocrine answer if not mark it off..

I know one thing I was messing up on was not reading the question 3 times... I was missing stuff in the question ... and I'm not talking the simple stuff like "only , always, except ,never " not that mess I was missing stuff like he is in for surgery x or the labs were this ... OK I know the labs are in range or out of range but what does that means when the K is hi or the NA is low and how does it effect the question. Hurst is real good with that.

keep checking they just opened up more testing centers with dates!

I've been using u world and something called learningext.com. I've been doing questions in my weak areas as well based on the paper pearson sends you after you fail.

no problem go with your gut and don't change your answers!

good luck!

it depends on where you live ... you need to open up the website and look in 100mile radius of you location and see.. you may have to do some detective work on your own.. its not a everywhere is open all of a sudden.. I got lucky with a few open date... you may have to put you nose to the grind stone and check every day or every 4hrs or so. cause we dont know where you live.. your situation or how far you are willing to drive ,

I go on every single day about 20x a day and search LOL. On the pearson website it says things are rapidly changing so you have to keep checking. I originally had an appointment in D.C but I am not trying to drive 3hrs away if they opened this place back up. I'm testing next week.

damn I was only checking 4hrs.. cause I was so scared that I would accidentally cancel the appointment I already had ..hahah

where do you live?

haha you won't just hit reschedule and then search through all the testing centers near you.
