I took my nclex yesterday Monday July 11. To prepare for it I used Uworld and Kaplan. I hated Kaplan because the rationales were terrible, it was very discouraging and I did not feel like I was gaining any knowledge. I did all of the uworld question bank and towards the end I was getting much better at it which made me feel like I was getting ready for my nclex.
Although my exam shut off at 75 I was positive I failed. I went to my car and started hysterically crying bc in my mind there was no way I passed. I had less than 10 select all that apply and my last 5 questions were very simple. I did not feel comfortable answering any of the questions bc although they were general most of the answer choices were so similar. Sometimes I couldn't even narrow it down to 2 answers. My boyfriend took the test with me at the same time and he finished at 75 questions as well but he had 30 select all that apply and his last question was also select all that apply. So I was sure I failed! we both tried the Pearson Vue Trick after we received an email from Pearson about 30 minutes after we finished the exam and it did not let us register but I still was sure I failed!
This morning I checked the board of nursing and both of our names were up there with our license number!! I still can't believe I passed but I feel so releaved! So if you don't get a lot of select all that apply and come out feeling terrible don't be discouraged! there is hope!!
Congratulations on you and your boyfriend's success. I took the NCLEX today and like you the exam shut off at 75 questions and those last few felt a bit too simple. I've gotten the email from Pearson, but havn't tried the PVT because I really don't have the cash to lose if I failed. I studied with Uworld and Kaplan as well and hated Kaplan for the same reason you did. I really liked how Uworld incorporated content into the rationale rather than give you a 600+ page book and say read it cover to cover. Yeesh! Anyway, sorry to babble. Your journey gives me hope. Thank you.
hi msnewbee. I am also doing kaplan because my school told us to use it and that it helps a lot. Do you think it helped at all? I also have uworld and did like 100 questions from it, i have little time till my exam so do you think around 600 questions on world, along with all kaplan can help

Congrats to you and your boyfriend on passing your NCLEX. That's awesome
I just took the NCLEX LVN in CA this morning. It shut off at 85 questions. I wasn't sure how to feel about the test when it shut down so fast. I was hesitant to try the pvt because I didn't know if it was accurate or not. I have read a lot of conflicting opinions about it...Thank for sharing your experience. It puts me at ease a little more. I received the good pop up so I hope the trick works
Good luck to both of you with your nursing careers.
