I am not sure on about your first question because i have not taken the nclex yet, still waiting for my first time.
I would assume you would have to be above or near in every catagory but that is just a guess... i am interested to see the answer to this question also. As for what to do differently this time, have you thought about doing suzanne's plan. I just started and its gonna be a lot of work but i am willing to do anything to pass this test and get all this stress off my shoulders!
snowbunnylife, I passed using the program by Suzanne, I recommend it. I graduated 3 years ago so naturally I was very reluctant that I could pass without the help of a expensive NCLEX review, but I went ahead used her plan. I was able to pass, using her plan NOTHING ELSE, but you must follow her directions to the letter. Good luck.
BTW, I did the plan once only but took my time.
I passed with 75 questions the first time I took it, and never received any kind of report. All I got was my license and something from Pearson Vue that said I passed.
are you from ca bon? did you see your name online before you got your license? Im still waiting for my result its been 7 days now and still dont see my name online , it means that I failed?

No, I am in texas. My results were posted 48 hours later on the Pearson Vue website and my name was on the Texas BON website the same morning.
I agree with truern on getting the report. As many have suggested try the suzannes plan as it has helped many. Personally I did not do her plan as I did not have enough time to do it. but I did use the book, it helped but what helped the most was doing the practice test. I did about 1500 practice questions alltogether to prepare for the test. I also did the http://www.learningext.com 3 weeks program and did all of the questions listed on the site. I would say those questions helped me the most. The questions on the Saunder's book were little too easy for me but learningext was more closer to nclex in my personal opinion.
I got lots of priority questions, lots of SATA type about (10-11), lots of teaching, there were about 8 or 9 med questions, 0 drug calculations, no delegation. The test stopped in 89 questions and passed it. Good luck to you. you can do it again.

Ok so I failed the nclex but with my letter I got a paper that said Content areas.
It had 9 Areas- Pharm, Psych, Basic Care, Physiological, Saftey, Health, Reduction of Risk, Coordinated care.
And it said for each one if I was NEAR PASSING, ABOVE PASSING, or BELOW PASSING.
So my question is to those who passed. Did you have to be above passing in each area?
Were you below in any? or Near? This will give me a good idea of things.
Thank you!
Also for those who passed there second time, what did you do your second time differently then your first?
