"I began this journey in June of 2005, signing up with Excelsior. I will graduate in December 2011. Yes I stayed registered that entire time. Ugh. I worked as a floor nurse from 2003 until 2005 then went back to my old job as a 911 dispatcher where I've been a supervisor the last 6 years"
CONGRATULATIONS on passing the CPNE!!
I have saved your journal, along with others, for inspiration. The above part really spoke to me, since I am a Dispatcher, a Dispatch Supervisor, and have been a Paramedic since 1989 in a very busy Ambulance Service. I have been looking at Excelsior for many years, applied in June, but haven't enrolled or even started the program yet. I will continue to read stories like yours for inspiration! Thanks for posting it!!

Oh how cool!! How long have you been dispatching? I have over 16 years. Never intended for this to be a "career"!!

It has been 12 years for me. I can't believe how quickly the years passed! (I have worked at the same service 24 years!) I had always intended to go back to school, Nursing was at the top of my list. It just hasn't happened. I read this board for inspiration, love reading all the success stories!
Thanks again for posting yours! Best of luck in your Nursing career! :)
Since I learned so much from others figured I'd post a journal too. Couldn't have done it without all the ideas from past CPNE'rs. OMG what a wonderful feeling to have CPNE conquered!!YOU CAN DO IT TOO!!!! Good luck to future testers.
