PASSED CPNE at AMC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Published

Hello all, I haven't frequent these boards in a while but I thought I would post. I passed the CPNE Oct 10-13 at AMC. It was the single most stressful event in my life to date. I have a journal Im almost complete and I will post it when I'm done, currently Im on page 10 and only going into day 3 so it will be long and detailed. My advice to all is, pick a workshop and do it, stick with a orginazational plan and grid and use some type of stress management. This test isnt hard, we make it hard but all the extra stress and pressure we put on ourseleves. It is a doable test with a little guidance and studying.

WOO-HOO! Congrats on kicking CPNE BUTT. You worked hard at it and it paid off. YAY! Traci

CONGRATULATIONS to you Chris!!! I can't wait to read your journal. I will be doing the same after I pass CPNE (confident am I?) Just passed my last Nursing Concept exam last nite so here I come CPNE. Again, congrats on the pass, it IS a big deal!!

I'm actually contracted through the hospital I work for, and now owe them 2 years of full-time work as they have paid a little over 8k for the EC program. I currently coordinate the ACLS and PALS courses for the hospital and fortunate to have some connections. I have been offered positions in the ER and CCU. The NM from CCU chased me down yesterday and actually asked if I was going to come work for her, it felt good to say the least. My goal for the next year is to get the acute care bedside hours for the CCRN. So I think I will probably take the CCU job. I would probable more comfertable in the ER but I think I will learn more in the CCU for now. Eventually I want to think about CRNA, and I know acute care exp. is a must.

Chris

Congrats! I am always happy to hear about another paramedic getting through! Don't sweat the NCLEX, and you will enjoy your new grad program. What area of nursing are you thinking about?

It must be a great feeling to have people fighting over you!

I went ICU at the last minute. It was a good choice. You can always pick up ER shifts, but get the critical care down first (IMHO). ICU is highly technical and there is much to learn. Whatever you decide I am sure you will do well.
