Passed CA NCLEX 2008, just got SSN this 2012, applied for CA-RN license

Hi to all! I passed the nclex last 2008. I just got my SSN last month as an employer based immigrant. Just a week ago, I submitted my Completed Application for Licensure by Examination including a U.S. social security number as instructed by the CA BON. My school also forwarded the needed documents.

My questions are:

Has someone gone through the same thing as I am?

What happened?

Did they release your license or not?

If yes: How long did you wait for your license?

If not: What did they say? Can you send me a copy? Did they make you do further studies?

--As i have said, I am on employment based petition, so with this, my employer is waiting for my license. With this, my life is on hold. I hope to be enlightened with this. Thank you so much.

Hello there. Happy Holidays. I saw may name posted on California Breeze and Nursys Website today. On the California Breeze says Original Issuance Date is Dec. 28, 2016 but the expiration date is Jan. 2018. Has anybody also got the same length of validity for a first time Licensee?

I'm so happy I found this thread before activating my license. Thanks to all who shared their experiences and tips on how to go about the process; you've made it easier to all the other nurses who will be/are going through the same grueling task. :)

I am Chickee. Took and passed California NCLEX in 2009 back in the Philippines. Got into US under K1 (Fiance) Visa on Sep 2016. Got married and had name change on Oct. Now (Jan 2017) living in Seattle and currently processing Adjustment of Status (AOS).

I read the whole thread (page 1-34) for 2+ hours but I didn't find anyone that went here under a fiancé visa. I'm just wondering if any of you might be able to help. Here are some of my questions:

1) Since I'm on fiancé visa, my SS card says Valid For Work Only with DHS Authorization.” I'm still waiting for my DHS Authorization which should arrive in 3 weeks. Will CA BON reject my application if by the time they verify my SSN I still don't have the DHS Auth? Or will it just stay on pending until I have the said authorization?

2) I understand that by default, the BREEZE/ online system won't allow you to continue with the RN INITIAL EXAM APPLICATION if you have applied before. I just wondering if anyone tried tweaking the answer from YES to NO just so you could continue, and actually received your license through the online process.

hi there i just wanted to ask when to start counting the days. i sent my application midweek of november 2016. i got a letter last december 28,2016 regarding some documents to comply with. january 17, they got my application form again. until now i have not heard anything yet. i was wodering if you can tell me when to count the weeks perhaps you can shed me light. thanks

hey congrats. hey i just wanted to ask how long did you wait for your license in total? and when did you start counting? is it from the time they confirmed your application? of the time you have sent the application to the california board of nursing? thanks so much

hi there how are you? i just wanted to know how long did you wait since after complying with their requirements(submitting a clear copy of ssn). i myself reapplied by endorsement and as per usps they have received the mail last january 17, 2017 and i havet heard anything from the board yet.

How long do you think would BON process my CA Nurse License?

Feb 6 2017 BON received the documents from school

Feb 8 2017 Sent my application to BON (Priority Mail)

*Enclosed the following:

1. Application Form License by Examination

2. Letter to BON explaining my situation

3. Original Transcript of Records and RLE Summary

4. Photocopy of Diploma

5. Photocopy of PRC Nurse License

6. $150 check (application fee)

7. Letter of Passing with valid SSN

Feb 10 2017 Did LiveScan fingerprinting

Feb 14 2017 Will send LiveScan fingerprinting receipt

i think for them to respond give them a month after all they received your application. then they will write to you that they reviewed your application etc. i heard its 4-6 months waiting, a few counted it and waited for 16 weeks. i dont know when they started counting tho. im still waiting for them as well to give me my license hehe

Happy Valentines to all. I just saw my name and license number in my breeze account this morning! To the person who started this thread thank you, and to the people who shared their thoughts and experiences in applying for expired passing letter date thank you too. To all of you who are still waiting for the license or planning to submit there is HOPE! I just read all the comments here and it is all you need nevermind the hear says just follow all the details here it will take you hours to finish but it will be rewarding. The time frame this will differ from how fast the school send all docs from them, the livescan/hardcard if needs a resubmission, and the person who will evaluate from BRN/Breeze which in all we don't have control.
