Passed!! A positive story

Nursing Students NCLEX

I just wanted to come on and post my positive NCLEX story. For a while there, I would come on here and read a lot about not passing, so wanted to share my pass story.

The study regimen was not too special. I was given a tutor through ATI from my school. I did that entire ATI study program. I also did questions on an app I downloaded and the free NCLEX 3500 questions. The ATI thing sucked, basically, it was super long and a lot of work. But you know what? It worked. I attribute my pass to that program.

On the day of the test, I was basically a mess. I was so nervous I thought I was going to throw up. I got to the testing center and was pretty panicked, until I sat down. As soon as the test started my brain kicked in and I was very focused. I was feeling pretty good and when the test stopped at 75, I was not surprised. All in all, it took me just under 1 hour.

I had been dropped off by my husband, so as I waited for him to pick me up, I did the PVT, really minutes after I did the test. I thought I was going to be too nervous to look, but I did it. GOOD POP UP!!!

I refused to believe it, but today I got the "pass" on the Pearson website. We were in Best Buy looking at TVs and I burst into tears! lol... The poor sales guy! He was super happy for me, too.... HAHA!

The first time I typed CJDMOMMA, RN, I cried again... :D

My advice. Be confident. Do many, many questions. I got 1 pharm, I didn't recognize. 1 math, and many, many SATA and priority. I could feel the questions get harder, then easier, then harder again. Just do your best, focus on what each answer is trying to tell you. Why is that particular answer being suggested? What does it mean? I think what the ATI program gave me, the most, is the confidence to work through each question, one at a time and not get bogged down with how many I needed to do ahead of it. I also looked through Saunders in my down time. Read all of the little bolded items, they help. Oh and the long study guide from here helped a ton too.

Lastly, don't let the nay sayers bring you down. Everyone wants to tell you their horror story. Everyone wants to tell you how hard it is, and how awful they felt after. Just do the work ahead of time. It is not that bad, you can do it. Keep your head about you.

Good luck!!! You can do it!!!!!!!!!!

Now I wait for my nursing license number to be issued so I can start my new job! I got a position on an oncology floor and I couldn't be more excited!

Congratulations! I take my exam Feb 3rd and I am just a wreck! I feel like no matter what I study, it won't be effective and I'll get a bunch of questions that I don't know. I did the Hurst review this week and have been studying like crazy. I can't wait until this is over. My nerves can't take anymore haha!

Congratulations! cjdmomma:nurse:

How long have you been studying for? Your situation sounds like mines

I was slacking big time because of the holidays. I was so busy! I started the Hurst review on January 6th and haven't gone a day without studying somehow. Even if it's reciting lab values in the shower haha.

Lol. I've been reviewing things. But I feel like I'm all over the place. I'm not sure if I should focus on a body system a day or what. I'm hoping after the HURTS review, it will give me an idea of how to start studying. DiD you feel more prepareD after you finish the Hurst review?
