  1. Thank you for your feedback. I have already heard of the batch hired with me that two other nurses already quit. I'm a little apprehensive to make any decision but I kind of feel like quitting too. A lot of ppl have told me to go with my gut feeling. I jus have to find a way to make the right decision. Ahhhh decisions decisions !
  2. What's funny is I read this and as soon I saw ur mnemonic for cranial nerves I laughed because I think it's so general everyone knows it all over lol...anyway congrats on passing! Very awesome!!
  3. Hello Nurses! I was working as a CNA for a convalescent for over 7 years. In January I passed the nclex and they hired me as an LVN in that same facility. When I first started, I was on-call and they hardly called me! So I decided to look for a new job so I can have something more steady! I applied all over and finally got a interview at a transitional care unit and then hired (Per diem)! Days after I was hired at the TCU, my convalescent job gave me steady days! I'm in a bit of a dilemma because I got this new job for lack of days at my original job! Anyways I decided to give it a try because I always wanted to move on and Explore a new setting! The problem is everytime I've been at the new job (tcu) for orientation they are short of nurses for various shifts!?! Also my FIRST day on the floor orientation they were short staffed (someone called in or no one was scheduled) so they asked if I was willing to take the floor!!! I declined because I'm still new to the facility and not familiar with there policies and all. Feels like I'm risking my license. I've worked so hard for this! I still have two more days orientation and I'm already feeling uncomfortable. Seems like everyone's disorganized! I really want to give this place a shot but haven't had any positive experiences. Hope someone has advice they can share! Or similar experiences? I'd appreciate the feedback! Thanks for reading my longggg story lol
  4. I finished school in July, they cashed my check In august, then received my ATT in October! And I'm in CA as well. I got nervous because it took long. Just passed my boards and I am now waititing for my actual license! Another thing to wait for! Good luck to u!
  5. That's great news! Congrats to you!! I just passed the nclex pn and your right...everyone wants to tell you how horrible it was but I never let that affect me. I just thought everyone has there own experience and that's all there is too it! Plus confidence! :) anyway happy to hear about ur new job. Congrats again!!
  6. That would be great! I really appreciate it! What city is it in? I'm not sure if I can accept PMs cuz I'm technically a "new member" on the site lol.
  7. Slicksgirl...I'm trying to find iv cert classes but all the ones I've contacted says we must have a license number to take the class! How were u able to do that! I really want to get iv certified! Lol. Thanks!
  8. I took my exam on 12/12/13. I received my results on 1/2/14....so about 3 weeks! The same day I received my results, I sent my license fee back for the license! I heard it may take 4 weeks for the actual license !! Ugh too bad there slow in CA!! I will post once I get it! Hope this helped! Congrats to you!!
  9. What state are u from Laurenray. Took my test 12/13/13 and got my results...but now waiting for my license!!
  10. Don't take anything except your car keys, ID, and ATT.They provided a locker for me at the testing center for my keys and ATT paper. But I would recommend to not take anything extra. Anything else just ask! Good luck!
  11. I always said I would never get one but in nursing school it's a must to save ur back! There's so many books! It's worth it! I bought a jansport, and although it was a little pricey, it was worth it!
  12. Inserting a Foley catheter is a good thing to review!
  13. Thank u I really appreciate it. I just hope the PVT is accurate so I can celebrate! Once I get the results I shall post!! I mainly studied from Saunders Comprehensive Review for the NCLEX PN By Linda Anne Silvestri, I used PEARSON REVIEWS & RATIONALES: COMPREHENSIVE REVIEW FOR NCLEX-PN for reference on some chapters. And I used an exam cram "cram sheet" (that has labs and good info) and didn't read the whole book but looked at the Kaplan nclex strategies, practice, and review. Hope that helps :)
