Hi all!
I applied for the Pasadena City College basic RN program to start Spring 2016. The deadline closed on August 1. Since no thread had been created before feel free to join in if you applied for that term as well.
Hello, everyone. I am new to the site & looking to gather some useful information from my peers. I am currently attending GCC for the prerequisites, but I don't really know anyone personally that has gone through this process. I would love to speak with some of you who have gone through the application process and get some major insight. I know everyone must be busy, but I am willing to compensate you for your consultation services. Thank you!
I got it by email (I put my student email on the application). I have a Bachelors already, my pre-req GPA is 2.75, and IDK about my cumulative because I have so many credits! But I know it's somewhere between 3.0 and 3.4. It is points based, and I don't remember how many points I added up. I honestly didn't think I would get accepted because everyone has better GPA than me.
When did you get the E-mail? because I called them earlier today and they said that they havent sent out any acceptance letter, the lady said that itll be sent out starting next week. Geez, I guess this is the waiting game that everybody's talking about. Im getting really anxious, I just want to know if I didn't get in so that I could breathe a little bit!! COngrats to you!!!
@nini_02 Thanks! I got it on April Fools day lol. I just randomly checked my email and I saw it there. The Intent form is due on April 8 so they better get those emails out soon! I really hope it wasn't a joke, but I do recall that around April is when they notify students. Did you apply for the LVN-RN or the generic ADN? The Generic program app was due a month after the Career Ladder apps were due.
congrats on getting accepted! I am currently a career ladder student at PCC and will be graduating this December. So unless they haven't made any changes to scheduling, the transition class will meet twice a week for like 6-8 weeks. Basically introducing you to things you'll anticipate to learn in 3rd and 4th semester. Basically try to get you to get out of the LVN mindset. The transition course is a cake walk. But the program itself is NOTHING like LVN school. So... Be ready to consume yourself in nursing. Your textbooks will literally be your best friends... It's true when they say that. You'll do great... Best of luck :)

Over 100? That is ridiculous. They might as well just be honest and say they take the top people and the rest of the people that quality are put on a list in order of rank. No need to get people excited. Smh.
