Pasadena City College Spring 2016

Published

Hi all!

I applied for the Pasadena City College basic RN program to start Spring 2016. The deadline closed on August 1. Since no thread had been created before feel free to join in if you applied for that term as well.

I am beginning the program in July, but has been a while since I graduated from LVN program so wanted some review help.

Specializes in Cardiovascular ICU.

To be honest, you can teach yourself with YouTube and different websites. At least that's what I did and I got a 100% on it. I've been out of LVN program and in a math course for a long time as well. But that's just my opinion..

I was wondering if you ever got into PCC's nursing program?

I have a bachelors too and don't have to take the TEAS. Did you also have volunteer work?

I got it by email (I put my student email on the application). I have a Bachelors already, my pre-req GPA is 2.75, and IDK about my cumulative because I have so many credits! But I know it's somewhere between 3.0 and 3.4. It is points based, and I don't remember how many points I added up. I honestly didn't think I would get accepted because everyone has better GPA than me.

Did you get accepted into PCC's nursing program? What were your overall stats and did you have volunteer hours?

SJBG1212 - I think they were talking about the LVN program, not the ADN program?

Doesn't seem like they've sent out anything yet for the ADN program. I honestly don't even know if they received my application since I never got a confirmation either haha But to answer your question, I also have a bachelors too and did some hours.

Specializes in CNA, LVN, RN.

Yes, I was accepted and I attended the orientation on 4/20. The transition course is 6 weeks over summer. Fridays only 7- 4:30.

I dont know my stats. I don't know my overall gpa. IDK if they counted my upper level courses in the calc since I have a bachelors. I got B's in anat, phys, micro (took all 3 at the same time!). No volunteer work, but I got full points for work experience and degree. I got full points for teas score since I have a bach (but I did score a 78% on it- didn't study since I chose the first date it was available, which was basically a week away, and I never took chemistry and thats where I scored lowest)

The lvn to rn app was due Feb 1. I got my acceptance letter via email on April 1. The generic ADN app was due March 1 - yo'll probably get that acceptance email on May 1.

can someone tell me how its like to be on the alternate list? did anyone hear back after being chosen as an alternate?

hi! did they notify you by school email or personal email for acceptance?

i didnt get accepted?? LOL
