has anyone applied to pasadena's rn program for fall 2013? has anyone been accepted into east pasadena's rn program? if so what was your pre-reqs grades? mines aren't all that great that's why i am so worried i will not get in because my pre-reqs gpa is only 2.79...do i even have a chance at getting in? please advise...so stressed out :( im not a bad student... i just don't have the time to study like im supposed to...i am a working full time single mother with two children and couldn't dedicate my time to so much studying...i was lucky if i even got 10 hours of studying a week

I wish everyone posted on my school board (Rio Hondo) as much as this one. Lol. Seems like students from Pasadena are more active on these boards! Just scheduled my physical with my school. Can't believe this is all happening. I'm so excited!!

We here at Pasadena care! Haha

I'm definitely excited for you! Although I'm happy not to have to move to SoCal in the next 6 weeks!

What'd you get on the teas? Comparable to practice?

I got an 82% :( It sounds kinda low but it was in the 93rd percentile so I guess it's not bad! Yours must've been in the 97th! Lol. I seriously thought I would do better considering I was doing really well on the practice tests. Then again I only had 2 days to study so I can't get too down on myself. Haha. My science was in the 97th percentile so that's how I try and look at it. At least I'm good in science! Lol.

Great job! That is an accomplishment for two days' studying!

Ha 96 national 92 program overall

It's funny when I see people on AN saying "oh I only scored 87% on the teas... Not that great..." I'm like "Heck yes! 86%! Go me!" Haha

Thanks! We both deserve a pat on the back :)

When does Pasadena start? Can't believe I start soon. Sucks because we don't really have a summer but at the same time it takes a little bit of load off the Fall semester. As you can see I'm trying to be more positive about it. Haha. The good thing is Rio Hondo is 7 miles away from my house! :)

PCC doesn't start until August 26th; we are still waiting on more orientation information as to what is due when...

7 miles?! Jealous! If we move to Westwood (as you probably know) I'll be a good 30 miles/1,000 LA traffic hours away from PCC!

I was actually disappointed when I didn't get into Rio Hondo because it would be nice to jump right in and have my bearings on the nursing program come fall... Buuuuut at the same time, moving to SoCal ain't gonna be easy (plus having two more paychecks before being unemployed is great :))

Hi shy, do u already have a room for living here? If not I do have a room for rent only 5miles from pcc?

Or for anyone who got acceptance from pcc and still looking for a place to live. I do rent my room.

That is so sweet booboo! Thank you! We will find out more in a few weeks about housing. We may have a chance to live rent-free for a year, so we'll see if it works out, but thank you again!

$64 American dollars for a PCC parking permit!? Yeesh!

Lol. Wow. That's a lot! I have to pay for a lot too right now. Background check, drug test, etc is $112!! Also you might want to get all your vaccinations in order if you got them at different places. I also have to pay for a physical since I have no current insurance :/ it gets pricey so save up! Do you have your BLS cert? Gotta pay for that too.

I know right! I've saved up $2000 for first semester expenses... That'll get me most of the way there, I'm hoping... I'm scheduled to take BLS on June 8th :)

Because of previous forum posts about PCC, I am most likely going to go through PCC Health Services to do my stuff, even though I have insurance now (apparently the health clearance has to be done in one, fell swoop)...

wow you're right. I should stop going to starbucks so much and start saving up! :o
