has anyone applied to pasadena's rn program for fall 2013? has anyone been accepted into east pasadena's rn program? if so what was your pre-reqs grades? mines aren't all that great that's why i am so worried i will not get in because my pre-reqs gpa is only 2.79...do i even have a chance at getting in? please advise...so stressed out :( im not a bad student... i just don't have the time to study like im supposed to...i am a working full time single mother with two children and couldn't dedicate my time to so much studying...i was lucky if i even got 10 hours of studying a week

You're going to do great on the TEAS! If you're scoring an 83% in science on practice exams...you're definitely going to pass! How are you with math? The math I found there to be a lot of rate problems, so I would say refresh on that. (ex: if Bill paints one wall in 5 hours and Nancy paints one wall in 10 hours, how many hours will it take them to paint one wall if they work together?)

One mnemonic I made up to help me on the TEAS to remember the order of electromagnetic waves is, " Great Xylophones Unite Very Impaired Musical Rejects" ( Gamma rays, X-Rays, Ultraviolet, Visible, Infrared, Microwave, Radiowave)...just in case it might come in handy;)

I'm not trying to sound like a smart ass, but is the practice version of the TEAS much easier than the actual test? I'm getting a little worried because I hardly saw any Math rate problems and I found the math problems to be really easy... Can anyone recommend a website with rate problems? Thanks guys!!

I used the ATI workbook practice test... I got 84% total on the practice and 86% on the actual. I'd say it was pretty comparable.

And you don't sound like a smart ass. I was nervous that the test would be much harder, too :)

Yayy thanks! Now I'm hopeful and not so terrified :) I did both practice tests and did really well. I only missed one problem on the math. My science the second time I got a 87.5%. I really hope it's accurate!! :) my problem initially was English but I just read the book (definitions) and it and changed it from a 63% to a 90%. Haha. Wish me luck!! I take it tomorrow. Ahhh!!

Good luck! I was warned that reading is harder on the computer than on paper so maybe look up some reading comp problems online... I got 93% on practice and like 81% on the real one!

Thanks for the heads up Shye! My English grammar skills definitely need some brushing up. Lol. Speaking and writing are completely different. For example, one question was to choose which was correct:

I cannot remember who I lent the book to. (Sounded perfectly fine to me but wrong. Lol.)

I cannot remember to whom I lent the book. (Correct response)

Anyway, thanks again!! :)

Yeah... Can't end in a preposition! (Former English major!)

Does anyone know what the clinical sites are for PCC's RN program? I know they partner with Kaiser for the Anesthesia Tech program...

I know Arcadia Methodist is definitely one. And CountrySomethingOrOther Villa (I believe is a nursing home) also.

This is a post from '08 where a student details some of the sites.
