has anyone applied to pasadena's rn program for fall 2013? has anyone been accepted into east pasadena's rn program? if so what was your pre-reqs grades? mines aren't all that great that's why i am so worried i will not get in because my pre-reqs gpa is only 2.79...do i even have a chance at getting in? please advise...so stressed out :( im not a bad student... i just don't have the time to study like im supposed to...i am a working full time single mother with two children and couldn't dedicate my time to so much studying...i was lucky if i even got 10 hours of studying a week

It's a crummy feeling, that sortof limbo where there's nothing to do but wait and worry. I think the reason they take awhile before they send rejections is because until they fill all the seats, they are still making admissions decisions.

And yes, Shye, I've taken the TEAS already. Do you think the folks who've already turned in scores were maybe the first to find out about acceptance? I wonder if that's why they're only doing some calls at a time rather than one mass email to all the acceptees...

That's a good question because I took my TEAS in early April and called to ask if I can submit my score and they told me to send an unofficial copy of my score until I find out if I'm accepted or not. So I sent my unofficial ATI transcript, but didn't get an email on Friday. I just checked my mail and I've been selected as an alternate for Citrus College, but with them I have to take the TEAS again per their requirement that no previous scores are accepted...but at least it's a sign of hope!

Long Beach City. They mailed me a letter saying that I was rejected because my application was incomplete, I didn't meet the requirements or I didn't meet the required GPA. All of which is not true. I'm going there on Tuesday in person to see if they messed up on my application. I have all my receipts and names of the people I turned in my stuff to. But I'm just gonna assume they already chose their people so I'm not trying to get my hopes up.

No, its their fault so you should definitely go talk to them and ask to clarify their decision. It happened to my friend when she applied to lacc. She went to see the department chair and explained the situation. Now she is an lacc nursing student.

Oooh! We may have solved the mystery, guys! Maybe they did the one email template today, stating the teas scores needed to be sent Friday!

Thanks!! I definitely will. Crossing fingers.

Thanks! I definitely will. I just wonder how they'll put me back into the lottery... Hopefully they haven't done that yet. Crossing my fingers!!

Ahh congrats!! At least you're an alternate. Would you mind telling me your stats? I applied there too and this is one of the few schools that's on a point system. The only thing hurting me right now is my overall GPA but my pre-req science is really good. I also have a Bachelors and health care experience. Just wanna see where I stand if I even have hope. Lol. Haven't gotten a letter yet...

Thank you! I know, at least an alternate. I figure since they only accept like 24 students, the alternate list can't be all that many people? I'm a little uncertain because its a newer program and they don't have the highest NCLEX pass rates despite using a point system. Anyway, my pre-req GPA is a 4.0, I have my bachelors from Pepperdine but my overall is crap 2.6 (I had a family crisis during college that really got in the way of my focus unfortunately...seriously haunts me that I graduated with such a low GPA). I also have the previous healthcare experience. Truly, of all the schools I am surprised because of my overall that I was selected as an alternate for a more merit based selection process, considering my overall isn't great.

I was thinking that too. I also already took the TEAS and submitted my unofficial transcript with my application. But really... Who knows.

Omg we have almost the same exact stats! Haha. I graduated from UCLA and my overall is the same. I have a 3.7 pre-req though so I may not have even made it to alternate. Crossing fingers though! Good luck to you!!

Hang in there for those of you who didn't get an email yet.. Me too. I was waiting for 2 years (4 semesters) to get into one of those RN program. Finally, this time I got acceptance from rio hondo. Hopefully I got into pcc( is my 1st choice). God bless us. Keep praying...

Congratz for those who get accepted.

How funny! Well, it's good to know neither of us are alone in this journey! 3.7 is still really, really good for pre-reqs, I would think you have just as good a chance. I hope you hear good news on Monday!

I too got this letter from LBCC. I applied for Spring 2013 and was rejected but, never said that I didn't meet the requirements. I think they may have changed their ''rejected" letters but, will still need to clarify. But - let me know if you find out any information. Thanks! Good luck!
