Hi,
I've heard that it's not recommended to work while enrolled as a student in an RN program. I'm applying for the Spring Semester at PCC and while I do intend to leave my current employer should I be accepted, I was wondering if there were people who made the attempt to work part-time or possibly in the summer.
Any opinions?
Thanks!
Hey! When is the next application time for PCC?@mint4321 - you should take the BSN route, as New RN grads don't a get job easily. Having your BSN, will be a plus. And you could save more too.
I'm def considering that, although I'm also considering the fact that one of the main things that hospitals/employers look for with new grads is paid experience. At PCC I could keep up my volunteering at the hospitals i'm at and possibly even work as a CNA (the BSN program I got into is an accelerated program.. That could feed right into a job when I graduate and then i'd continue with on online ADN-BSN. But when all is said and done, that's not guaranteed either, so I am leaning towards the accelerated program.
I applied to CSUN's Accelerated BSN program for a 2nd Bachelors. I've taken all of my pre-reqs so I'd be ready to start. If I go the PCC route, I'd still have to take a history class and nutrition. --another reason I'm leaning towards CSUN.
Hi there, I also applied to PCC and am desperately waiting for a reply:/ This is my 5th time applying and have had no luck. I have a B in both Micro and English and A's in all my other Prerequisite courses. It must be super competitive if I can't get in:( I've been contemplating a private university(west coast.) However it is very expensive. Has anyone ever heard anything about this school? Thank you!

Hey! Have you applied to Moorpark College, and other community colleges like GCC, valley college, Pierce college?
Have you applied to Mount. Mary College, its a private college, its less expensive then West coast. you should try to apply there.
Good luck!
Have you tried applying at LA COUNTY/USC? They have a similar points system to Pasadena (so I've heard).

Congrats on the BSN acceptance. I think I'd choose that if I had the option, but only you know what is best for you. You're right though, you cannot make any decisions about PCC until they get those notifications out. Ugh, I hate having to be patient!!!
