Pasadena City College RN program

Published

Hi,

I've heard that it's not recommended to work while enrolled as a student in an RN program. I'm applying for the Spring Semester at PCC and while I do intend to leave my current employer should I be accepted, I was wondering if there were people who made the attempt to work part-time or possibly in the summer.

Any opinions?

Thanks!

You haven't heard from LA City College yet? They sent out notices mid-May.

Oh my bad, I got placed alternate for Lacc. I'm just waiting on 2 more. La county and elac. Do you think it may be hard working and going to school? Pasadena is quite a distance for me and I'm debating whether I should get a studio apt

From what everyone and their mothers tell me, it's difficult to work and go to school. I'm definitely gonna quit my job since school schedule and my work schedule conflict. I'm not sure how manageable it is to have a part time job that's more flexible. I'm going to see after the first semester how it goes. Maybe you can also just go to school for that first semester until you figure out how the schedule will go for you.

And I fell you on moving. PCC is about 25 miles from me so I'll probably have to move too.

Has anyone received an e-mail yet??

I've received neither an email nor a call. I worry this does not bode well.

Same here rebeccles. :/

No e-mail yet, just a call.

I suppose we can both just wait. Together. On the same pins and needles.

Yah. Unfortunately, that's all we can do. I'm assuming the chances of getting an acceptance at this point are slim though, since people have been receiving calls since Friday and they only accept 60 people. Hopefully I'm wrong though! Especially since it's so late and most people have already accepted seats elsewhere. That'll leave more room for us! Hopefully? Good luck either way. This lottery thing kills me.

My friend received an e-mail today. She has been chosen as an alternate.

Hi everyone. . . I finally joined and all the info all of you have posted has been VERY helpful!! I was also accepted to PCC nursing program and received a call on Monday. Any idea what's going to happen next?!? I know we're waiting on an email . . . Then what? Any info is great!
